POPULAR
They take over popular franchises and run them into the ground.
Sim city, dead space, mass effect, etc. in recent memory.

and spore, battlefield, dragon age, star wars, sims 3 (there's literally 100s of dollars of DLC that should be in the game already)
they ruined Maxis, origin, dice, bioware, and crytek

Is battlefield run into the ground yet?
3 just appealed to cod fans more than bf fans, I don't think it's ruined yet. Maybe bf5 will be the end.
oh, and medal of honor lol.

imo they ruined it with bad company 2, the first one was a nice change of pace but it hasn't been great since battlefield 2, also they changed it from a pc game to a console game

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect

Um hello? Did you somehow miss the SimCity always online fiasco? That and the fact they off kill franchises after they buy them?

So you're actually okay with a company adding microtransactions into every game they make from now on. Did you forget what they did with Sim City? They are the worst company in America 2 times in a row for a reason.

You need to read this NOW. While the author is over the top in his verve to crucify EA, he is accurate in most of his points. There was actually a quote a while back (no source unfortunately) of an executive saying they it was customers were more likely to spend money if they were always online. They don't even bother hiding the fact that their goal is NOT to make good games, but to make money. That wouldn't be a problem necessarily, but they also want to buy out all other game companies and force you to use their product.
Also, have you checked out ign lately? I know the joke is a little silly about paid reviews, but look at their site. Every day greg miller is playing simcity and posting an article about it. The simcity review was as generous as it could be without "paid review" being all but obvious. As far as i'm concerned, i can't take what ign says seriously at all, they're NOT an information website, they're a promotional website. And that fits perfectly with EA's business model.
EDIT: don't be surprised when greg miller moves to EA ^^

I think a whole genre of why EA has a terrible reputation is being forgotten here. The problems are not exclusively tied into consumer complaints. As someone who lives near EA headquarters and have several acquaintances work for them, EA is notorious for treating their workers with little respect. Few game publishers have such a well-known bad reputation in regards to employee satisfaction or high level of staff turn-over in Los Angeles than EA.
Since LA is still the major hub for the game, film, commercial, and digital effects industry, that is saying a lot.

I bought RA2 in 2009 played it loved it. Left pc gaming until a month ago and so dusted it off and installed it only to be told after the install that i needed to BUY an extra cd key! enough to say i didn't BUY another key and am now playing the game i already paid for
Had the same problem with Spore and C&C what a joke.
