You linked a user blog from IGN.

But the article you linked me to states that Retro Studios still stated that, and I know I linked you to an IGN user. I pointed out that like the article you sent me to, both said that the information is from Retro. Doesn't seem to be fake either? I mean if he really wanted to make up a rumor for people to believe and get frantic about, this one isn't really it. Seems reliable.

The rumor comes from Techtroid who supposedly had a conversation with one of Retro's developers at E3. Techtroid said that Retro stated that they are working on a project everyone wants us to do.

 

It's not really confirmed. I think that's the point Nollog is trying to make.

A person who worked in the industry shared some details of conversations he had with fellow developers.
The internet then twisted it into official information from Nintendo HQ etc.
 
Reliable information or not, it's not something we KNOW, which is what the OP is asking for.
It's something people in the know have said, and has been ignored by Nintendo.

That's a separate rumour, which paul gale later talked about after the fact I think, dismissing it as something that was pitched but wasn't going to happen.

That's my biggest issue with all these blog sites, none of them link back to the source properly so it's a tangled web of bs.

I'll look, but I know it's not a rumor. It's from someone who works at Retro on their twitter account. If I'm not mistaken. It's about a year old though.

OP wanted confirmed facts, not crap rumours. If she wants rumours she can go to any blog on the internet, two of which are linked to about 9,001 times on this forum.

And then there's the 30 others people make threads about everytime they post a new article.

Okay, so with a lot of Googling, Nollog is correct. I believe the original source was from that site he quoted, and that it is indeed a rumor.

They didn't.
Reggie said around Christmas I believe that e3 would be a more appropriate time for them to discuss Retro's work.
That's all they've said officially.

Thanks Nollog. Most assumptions here are based on rumors and I don't trust rumors that much.
