Well, Xbox 1 will always hold a special spot in my collection.... 360 was dissapointing.... hell almost ALL of last gen was disapointing so whatever....

But Xbox one.... I think this is where we part ways microsoft. wii u and ps4 for me. Didnt see that coming a few months ago. MS had it practically in the bag with me back when i knew nothing. Oh well.

Ditto.

''Microsoft has filed for a Kinect-related patent, and it’s a doozy of an application. The abstract describes a camera-based system that would monitor the number of viewers in a room and check to see if the number of occupants exceeded a certain threshold set by the content provider. If there are too many warm bodies present, the device owner would be prompted to purchase a license for a greater number of viewers.''

Was very impressed with the hardware and what it could do, but it stopped there. THE EA games did not look "next gen" to me, but honestly I'm not a graphics guy, and i wasn't blown with ps4 either. still looking for the day a console game runs, looks and performs better than any of the uncharted games.

But, i think Microsoft is right there with Sony on the hardware, possibly even ahead just because of the OS, but GAMES make the systems,

thus, put aside wii -u vs ps4, vs ONE

let the games win the war, and with that, it just so happens nintendo is dropping bombs at the time Sony and MS will be deploying the infantry.

they probably got a fact sheet, being press.

Too bad at least one of those "facts" was inconsistent with what was actually said during the reveal.

Halo tv show sounds terrible. Films based on video games are generally terrible so how will tv show be any different? Plus Spielberg is involved so that's another reason to expect a bad show. He hasn't made a film worth watching in about 10 years.

As for the Xbox one itself, it looks alright. But so far it's not anything that seems very new or exciting.

Oh, when did they confirm all this?

The live fee is going up, i got a message when they scrapped the family pack which was a nice way of saying price increase.

They can't do a sub based console due to TV laws in certain areas such as England with its daft Licence.

Kinnect is very forced which is now proven.

Have you actually watched the halo mini tv series Forward unto dawn if it's anything like that we have nothing to worry about and with Steven Spielberg behind it I think it's going to be truly amazing.

:cough: Yeah...

>Pay for used games
>Pay for online
>No backwards compatibility

Sounds like a winner to me!

Can I just say something about this comment

>This hasn't been confirmed and is rumours this is just like the always online rumour which turned out to be false!!
>Pay for online of course because xbox live is by far the more superior service
>And does it matter by the time it's out you will be able to pick up a 360 next to nothing anyway??

So to me three arguments that are pretty lame things to pick up on and yes I have a Wii U I'm just not completely big orang about the competition and what they offer

From the Xbox one FAQ:

Q:    Will Xbox One allow players to trade in, purchase and play pre-owned games?
A:    We are designing Xbox One to enable customers to trade in and resell games. We’ll have more details to share later.

Of the new Xbox and the new PS, i was really looking to see what MS would do and by the looks of it, it`s not going to be pretty.

If everything that is going around is 100% confirmed... MS has just shot themselves in the foot. 3rd generation curse! :D

Im goin with Xbox over Playstation 8Gb is a huge thing. I also love the interface

They both have 8GB ..

PS4 :) at least for me

PS4 for suuuure now. I don't want a DVD/VHS Player with Wifi. LOL (;-) Routerbad)

Engadget are slouching

They didn't reveal anything about the architecture, aside from the number of transistors

They did not mention 4k at all

Kinect 2.0 will have a 1080p camera

Exactly my friend.

it's strange to me that people seem to decide what they are buying before they even know anything about it.

I haven't watched the reveal yet, but have read a lot. What I know .. it's ugly. That isn't the big deal breaker. Pay extra for used games? Must install video games? Why not just have a PC?

PS4 and Wii U for me.

And about the EA Deal ... Why WOULDN'T EA like the Xbox One? No used games, or pay extra at least, means more money for them. They WANT the Xbox One to do well, and they are going to bet on it.

Hopefully that works for them, I don't want to see people loose their jobs.

I would hope this is not true.

From technobuffalo:

After the Xbox One was unveiled, news hit that each game would be tied to your user account when you purchase it. You can only play it on your Xbox One…

…unless you pay some sort of fee. Want to bring the game to a friend’s house and play it on their Xbox One? There will be a fee. Want to buy a used Xbox One game and play it on your home system? There will be a fee.

We now know the full extent of that fee, thanks to an interview between Kotaku and Microsoft Corporate Vice President Phil Harrison. The fee for buying used games or borrowing one from a friend? The full cost of the game.

If it’s $59.99 at retail for the game, you’ll pay $59.99 in order to activate it. That’s on top of whatever you paid the seller of the game.

Harrison points to a solution, though. Microsoft will offer some sort of trade program for users who want to ditch their old games for new ones. What that means and how it works remains to be seen.

Am I the only one really bummed out by this decision? I save a lot of money buying my games used. What about when the Xbox One is 20 years old and we’re trying to buy games on the secondhand market? Will we even be able to activate them then?

Guess that means no more renting games from gamefly or redbox or buying used games. With different places charging different prices for games who's price do they use as the retail price they would charge to activate the game?
