EA’s FIFA 14 isn’t the only soccer simulation game that will not see release on Nintendo platforms this year. Konami has confirmed that Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (PES 2014) will not be released on the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS. PES European community manager Adam Bhatti claims that the reason the game will skip the hand-held console is because no one bought the Nintendo 3DS version of PES 2013, which was released in 2012. PES 2014 is scheduled to arrive in September for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360 and PC.

this just means that even less people will buy a WiiU now, meaning that less developers will make games for the WiiU.

 

even what Nintendo show at E3 isn't going to be enough to save the WiiU.

I'm not too disappointed at this, never been one for the footy games. I know some are. It wouldn't even get me down too much if the Wii U became a Nintendo publisher only console as they still have a lot of very good games to offer. I'm sure it'll come good in the end. If not then I'll give it to the kids ;-)

It does effect the Wii U but like most are saying here it's not the reason I bought one so it wont kill my purchase.

This concerns me not because I think PES is the greatest series ever, but because the next one is running on the FOX Engine. This is the only next-gen engine that hasn't had confirmation on whether or not it will be running on Wii U.

I was really, really hoping for PES 2014 on the Wii U. Konami are shooting themselves in the foot, as there will be no competition from FIFA.

Hmmmmm PES......OH YEAH the Fifa rip-off. If no one bought the 3ds version what makes them think anyone won't the Wii U version? You never know unless you try.

Oh well. A lot of Nintendo fans aren't sports gamers anyway. But it hurts the idea that Nintendo's console is a third-party system.

PES is crap compared to Fifa anyway, and in my eyes Fifa's crap,so there you have it, I'm actuall quite happy less shovelware for my fave console

I suppose it all comes down to previous sales on the Nintendo consoles. Can't imagine they were great on the Wii.

ISS Pro was the most awesome footy game ever on the SNES though.
