Nintendo should start putting these demo's up on the eshop.  That would be the best way to get people excited for them.  I think its working for Rayman Legends.

They probably will closer to release. Rep stated builds can be unstable, so I think a bit of patience and in time they will come.

They will put the demos on the eShop when their ready enough. But know what, sure, they should go ahead right now. Go ahead and break your wii u's.

Yea, with unstable builds, if it freezes on people or creates a bricking problem.. it will only spiral into bad publicity. I'd suggest most of the demos at best buys/e3 are in late beta. No reason to send out beta's as a demo when things are still being polished, enhanced, optimized etc.

Hmmm, the control issues trouble me... Hopefully Ninty addresses them before launch. What worries me is they might delay to fix the controls and pretty up the games..

Plus, it's normal for E3 demos to have some trouble.

To OP: I'm glad you posted this, thank you.

They should just break out a rope and start a line instead of having a stupid sign up sheet
I am the foot. I do not like you. You smother me with socks and shoes, then step on me thousands of times a day.

We foot will rebel one day.

In the big picture, maybe it's a good thing that there were (and seems to be) lots of people wanting to try these games out......

I've seen some other impressions stating that they did have lines. But others seemed to have lines AND sign up sheets, I literally have no idea what each store did. Possibly some stores had more than one demo unit?

I thought i read that the main reason these Demos are not on the eshop is because 1. They are only doing this thing on 2 days, So they don't want people to keep them as much as possible and go through it with a fine comb and criticise, and 2. The main one being that this is designed to make people buy the Wii U, to show people that some big titles are coming. If you have a Wii U then that isn't exactly going to help there sales.

You can still see this as: "people are interested in Nintendo's Wii U"

They shouldn't have done the whole best buy thing, I mean why not for the Eshop for like 3 tries? Project X Zone has that and that's coming really soon.

Nice story, but like others have said, why the hell didn't nintendo release these as demos on the eshop?

Nintendo should start putting these demo's up on the eshop.  That would be the best way to get people excited for them.  I think its working for Rayman Legends.

The games are there to sell consoles. We already have those. They don't need to promote these games to Wii U owners.

I just got back from Best Buy today, I had a much better time than Wednesday. I actually got to play every game besides Mario Kart 8 twice. The wait times were shorter, or at least less noticeable as I had my 3DS with me (got about 40 Streetpasses). I socialized with some other people, someone literally added me as a friend on 3DS as I was wearing a Game Grumps shirt. I got there around 10:30, there were two people a head of me. It was just them and the rep, the demos started early at 12:40. The reps were very nice (they were on Wednesday, but I probably didn't notice as much due to my mediocre experience), and helpful.

I hope they do nunchuck support for 3D world, maybe motion controls? and make the visuals look different than 3D land, maybe more like 64 since that is what they are going for.... it just looks too generic...

Most of the speculation for why the demos haven't released on the eShop are because Nintendo wants attention to be stirred. Having non Wii U owners try the games out, and having big Nintendo fans there will stir more attention. Plus, E3 demo builds are usually incomplete and buggy. So it might be harmful to your console if the game were to freeze or crash, considering the demos may/may not be running on dev kits, and having a "complete" demo with bug fixes and not running on a dev kit/demo kit would require way too much time and effort for just a demo.

That's pretty much why they didn't release them on the e shop.
