Nintendo plans to implement a new framework via a system update for the 3DS, which will allow StreetPass communication to take place indirectly, via so-called StreetPass relay stations—basically, online servers accessed through public Wi-Fi access points. This way, 3DS consoles communicate with and leave their game data on a server instead of interacting directly with another console, not only increasing the chances of the data being received by another 3DS, but also allowing the same data to be received by multiple consoles instead of just one.

 

 

hopefully we also hear news and get miiverse on 3DS and unified accounts with NNID/VC

Love this idea. Now I won't have to rely on special Miis for pink pieces. You'd think living so close to Atlantic Beach would give you Streetpasses. -.-

I agree. Instead of console to console, it's more like console to cloud, to console. This makes a LOT OF SENSE!

As much as I am going to like having lots of streetpasses now, and it does make sense to do this in a place like the US where unlike Japan we arent over crowded and  you wont run into the same random stranger 400 times....

 

It almost feels like cheating

That is so cheating. I guess it will help me finish my puzzles, but if this actually happens they may want to increase the amount of puzzles and Find Mii things they release

Oh cool, I take my 3DS out everywhere but I never get hits this is awesome news, UK gamers eh?

I am so glad for this.  The only person I streetpass regularly is my friend, but we have pink pieces in the same spots.  The last time we had all the pieces was after the Zelda concert in Chicago.  Got 115 streetpasses that night.but we hardly have any pink pieces for the puzzles released in the last 6 months.
