Where is all this region locking coming from??? Seriously for the past 7 months of its life no one cared, now all of a sudden "OMG TAKE IT OFF GUYS NO ONE LIKES IT"... Never really cared about it and still don't. I didn't even care that the Xbox One had region lock.
Well, I've finally found my Starfox, and I love it.

If one console has one thing over the other, it's an advantage, region lock is just one thing Wii U doesn't have. Personally I don't care apart from Scribblenauts Unlimited, it's still not out here in the UK. Rather just import the US version

atleast for the 3DS, cause you usually take your handhelds to countries abroad.

How can they change this on my existing 3DS and Wii U? I'm not buying another console just for this.
Region locks are just a software thing.
The only physical region locks Nintendo ever used were the shape of the cartridges for the Famicom, Super Famicom, and Nintendo 64.

Petitions don't work so this is just a waste of time. Besides region locking was a conscious decision by Nintendo and not something they're going to go back on just because a few thousand people don't agree with it.
Did you see the op's Avatar? Xenoblade Chronicles only came to the Americas and Europe because of petitioning from Operation Rainfall. Now X is coming out and it is likely that it would have been a japanese exclusive if Operation Rainfall never happened. Petitioning can work, its just that most of the time they don't.

Oh don't get me started on this I HATE REGION LOCKING!!! I also hate DVD/Blu-Ray regions too, I have to import all of my Anime from the USA cos' the UK sux for Anime, so I need a multi-region DVD/Blu-Ray player and they are REALLY EXPENSIVE, it really annoys me, it makes importing so dificult. I just think every disc in the world should have the same region, one region for all.
