I'm not that far into the game, but I haven't seen any Ellie fanservice so I have no idea why it sold well in Japan. /sarcasm

Awesome. Maybe this is the game Miyamoto was waiting for to be inspired by? I would love to see his take on it.

wow awesome, maybe Japanese developers will get inspired.
While the possibility of a FPS made by Nintendo would be rather neat, I'm not sure I want them to be THAT inspired.
After all, there's so many F-bomb dudebro "AAA+" shooters the market can take. (Not calling TLoU one...well, not the dudebro part)

I hope you aren't implying that TLoU is a first person F-Bomb shooter...
& I would hope that the shooting mechanics in TLoU would be the least inspirational aspect of the game.

I see a game like Metal Gear and as good as that game is, it's got a ton of dumb dialogue and useless cut scenes. I see TLOU and it certainly is a huge leap when it comes to presentation and story/character development. I don't think Japanese developers are far behind when it comes to gameplay innovations, it's their story telling and characters that feel dated to me. I think the last Japanese game that I felt pushed the bar high in all categorys was RE4 which The Last Of Us borrowed tremendously from.
