“The attitude of Japanese developers and overseas developers are a bit different, and for overseas developers, some certainly announced that they would not release their key titles for Wii U, but other big publishers have made all of their main titles available for the platform. In this sense, we can say that this is not a universal trend but each software developer has its own thoughts.”

“There were so many games released by third party publishers for Wii U during the launch period, but most of them were converted from other platforms and therefore could not enjoy brisk sales. As a result, some software developers have become pessimistic about Wii U. However, the time will come when some third-party games for Wii U and for other platforms are released at the same time this year. It is important to have given much momentum to Wii U around that period.”

Thoughts?

If Iwata wants momentum, ask them to put the wii u logo on their advertisements.

Most games coming out for wii u only have the 360 and ps3 logo's on their advertising stuff and don't even mention the console.

Nintendo should help fund third party games marketing, that's how they'll regain the momentum.

In this sense, we can say that this is not a universal trend but each software developer has its own thoughts, even though it seems as if the only third party supporter with semi-positive thoughts is Ubisoft.”

“There were so many garbage lazy ports released by third party publishers for Wii U during the launch period; therefore they could not enjoy brisk sales. As a result, all software developers have now become pessimistic about Wii U (including Ubisoft). However, the time will come when some third-party games (Made by Ubisoft) for Wii U and for other platforms are released at the same time this year. "We Look forward to making huge profit of our own 1st party titles selling them on our own gaming console without having to compete against third parties, we feel that we have once again choked them completely out, look at us go people: 4 for 4 since the N64 Days....woot woo!!!

Truthfully I don't care anymore. Games will come to the console and I will pick the games I want and play them if certain games don't come that's fine I'm a Wii U only owner and damn proud of it.

Give third partys support in making thier games for Wii U, give them free publishing for one year, advertise the damn thing, price cut of £50 -£100 / $50 - $100 to make it competative towards PS4, yes Nintendo lose money on publishing and hardware but more people buy Wii U's, which means more games sell, developers see where they went wrong and start bringing more games too it which eventually means they will start paying Nintendo for publishing again cos's now they will see it as worth the effort, manufacturing costs are bound to go down at some point so Nintendo will start making profit on the hardware in the mean time they have the profits from the software, Wii U will start printing money, everyone will be happy, problem solved. For a company with as much money as Nintendo all of this should not be hard to do.

They can't give free publishing. They can not charge any fees, but publishers pay the piper of distribution of the game and marketing the game. Nintendo can co publish, and they are doing that with Sonic and Lego City. But they can't do that with everyone.

I still think even if a game comes to all 3 platforms at the same time it still wont sell anywhere near as many on the wii u as say ps4 and xbox. Most people that are after 3rd party will have the wii and also a 2nd console I would imagine. So who is going to buy an inferior game for 1 system when they can have an improved version on another.

Wii u has its place for those who love nintendo games but for everything else it just doesn't seem to cut it sadly

Sometimes Nintendo does get the inferior version, sometimes it doesn't. In terms of Watch Dogs, I plan on buying the Wii U version because I believe the game was made for the game pad. I don't think it would be as fun without the game pad.

But you are right, and even in the cases you are wrong gamers think that way.

He is right: one of the reasons for the low tie ratio on a game like, for example, CoD, versus the tie ratio of ZombiU or Scribblenauts, shows that it`s not that the console can`t sell 3rd party games, it`s actually the opposite. The exclusives were there and they were bought.

In terms of software,  Wii U suffered with too many ports and lack of a steady release calendar for 1st party and 3rd party games. And this was already visible from the get go, with the exception of Rayman Legends and Pikmin 3 (both delayed).

Not to mention that people didn`t know Wii U was a new console.

I too believe that 3rd party companies will regret not giving it another chance now that the console is out and games will be released at the same time - when this would be the perfect time to see if Wii U has it or not.
