$399 isn't cheap at all, it's the perfect price for a console.

Again, Pachter shows he is an incompetent prick who knows nothin of the idustry that he attempts to analyze. Consumers will buy a cheap console over a more expensive one any day, especially when it is more powerful and has most of the same games. Some times I wonder if he is just the biggest troll alive, because no man can be serious about some of the things he says.

How can he even begin to make this argument when the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One so much on pre-orders?
Then there is the fact plenty of people have claimed the price as a big reason NOT to get a Wii U, as its not seeming to offer anything worthy of costing more than Xbox 360/PS3. (at least not yet)

I don`t think Sony made a good decision regarding the Eye camera - specially if they are going for the Kinect/Skype market.
Still, it does help them have a 399 starting point, but as no one buys a console without a game, the real starting point will be 450/460. And that is not cheap.
450/460 vs a still goind strong PS3 vs a strong Wii U in the fall/winter, it only makes it look more expensive.
This generation will be the first where there isn`t a console in the mass market price of 200-250 from day one. So, all consoles are expensive, just ones more than others.
We will see if that does affect market penetration for the new generation.

That makes absolutely no sense. How does a good console with good specs and games having a decent price constitute as a problem? In what world? Honestly. When the PS3 came out, it was too expensive. Now the PS4 is too cheap. This guy is a tool.
