In the past, campaigns for video game localization center around a group of people rallying together as many consumers as possible to show a Publisher that it is worth their time to localize a specific game. This isn't always successful but we have seen it succeed with games such as Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, and Bravely Default to name a few. But since Oprainfall "retired" from campaigning, they have found a new strategy.
Oprainfall and a localization company called Language Automation Inc. (or LAI) have teamed up for a new campaign where LAI will directly approach companies and offer to localize games you vote on for a discount in the hope that they will agree to localize that game. They are starting with select games from SEGA and Konami:
- Konami
- Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki
- Beyond the Labyrinth
- SEGA
- Valkyria Chronicles III
- Shining Hearts
- Yakuza HD Remakes
- Yakuza 5
You can vote on one game from each company and the game with the most votes from each company will be the one that is brought up to the table for possible localization. You can vote HERE
