External hard-drives are key here.

Not even sure if I was gonna get it anyway, so this doesn't matter too much. Pretty interesting though.
Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

Yikes. That means I must buy an external harddrive now. I know I should've been done this, but hey call me lazy.

Wow, didn't expect it to be much bigger than pikmin 3. Wasn't it around 3-4 gig?
Wait, so how big is the Pikmin 3 download? I was assuming both titles to be around 15GB, actually.
Now Playing: Super Mario Galaxy (Wii), The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)

Pikmin 3 was 3950 MB.
Wow...i had my money on 7GB
Of course this was just a wild guess based on various other game file sizes.

Well the reviews are saying Pikmin 3 is a short game, so the download size is reasonable. 10Gb might mean W101 has more content and more areas to explore, etc.

So an innocent looking game is already bigger than any single-disc Xbox 360 game whose discs only support 8GB. inb4 wii u is not teh next genzz

And this is why I buy hard copy. I don't wanna wait for all that to download.
And the up and coming wii u games should stray to get to the 25gb range. At lest that's about what the disc can hold. I hope to see them starting to fill them up.

If I recall correctly Lego City Undercover is pretty big. I believe its 17GB in size or somewhere around there. If Nintendo was serious about pushing digital sales they should have included a standard higher capacity HD rather then the much smaller capacity flash memory which is also much slower as well.
yep thats where the vita took a crap. Charged so much for there memory cards and try to push digital games when most people would buy a middle card and only be able to load 2 games.
And the wii u should of came with a 500gb- 1tb drive with an expansion slot of external hard drives
But either way as i said i like hard copies since i dont have to worry about all that.

I think Nintendo made the correct choice when it comes to storage ... of all the next gen consoles, the Wii U is the easiest to expand ... just put an external drive with its own power source into the Wii U with a USB connector ... can't get any easier than that. It also helped keep the Wii U price down and gives the consumer their choice on if to expand or not ... for example anyone who only buys physical games will probably never need to expand unless they get a lot of virtual console games.
I honestly do not think 10G is a big deal, I expect that most games coming out in the future will be at least 10G but more likely 15G or more moving forward as the games get better looking and more intricate.
I was lucky to have had a 1TB drive laying around and not being used when I got my Wii U ... it now belongs to the Wii U.
I like buying digital copies of games because, in my eyes, they stand the most chance of being able to be played on future generations of consoles ...
