Because I want to buy a pro controller so I can play on call of duty easier with my friends but I don't want that to be the only use.

Yes, you can IIRC. You cannot use the gamepad with the pro controller though.

You can't have one person playing as Mario on the Gamepad and 3 other people on Pro Controllers/Wii Remotes. In Multiplayer, Gamepad use is only for Boost Mode.

Then yes, it should work perfectly. I was clearing up what Fox said about the Gamepad and Pro Controller.
