This would be great for Nintendo it really would be. Owning a prestigious development studio like Platinum and getting a steady stream of games developed from them would really help Nintendo. Also with Platinum only having to focus on one system they could do so much more with their games (not that their games aren't already amazing!).

we the post got it right because a games company can't make your favourite games when they don't have any customers.

They also failed so hard to sell any games as clover that capcom terminated them after only three new ip's.... all of which were commercial failures....

And all three of which are regulars on every top 100 all timer list.

Unfortunately for the Creativity LOVERs, most gamers only say they want fresh engaging new experiences because it makes them feel good about their mental image of themselves.

In reality, they are far to lazy to step outside their comfort zone and actually really try anything creative or new. And sure as hell wont take the time to develop new skills.

Anyway it doesn't matter how many people want to buy a game, a good game is still good even if only 1 person bought it.

Besides a game like w101 isn't even out in all regions, and we don't know eshop sales. So it won't have sold great but people will still have bought it.

 

Also if the game had more advertising it would've sold much better as it really deserved it.

Yes those are always going to be important franchises. But getting a company like platinum to make something original without plumbers and such would be wonderful... Times 101.

But really if they keep making great and fresh games the herd will notice eventually. It doesn't always happen overnight. If the herd didn't notice them just shut up and enjoy some great games.

A game isn't great because it sold 20 million copies. It was great before it sold one copy. Pull your head out.

Platinum games aren't going to pull Nintendo out of any image either since they're not quite as famous as you think and their games are often over-looked. Nintendo already has plenty of games that aren't the usual franchises but those are also largely overlooked.

 

A game that sells one copy isn't great for a business like Nintendo...ever. That's what I said. "I don't see how they'd be so good for Nintendo". I never said I thought their games weren't good, which I wouldn't know anyway.

I completely agree. The Wonderful 101 is a very fresh and original game and this is the kind of thing that Nintendo needs. It's not about having one game, it's about having a library of original and interesting games.

These games might not be huge sellers, but it's things like this that give a console it's image as something different.
