It's a 27" and holy pony it's HUGE! Makes all of the windows look claustrophobic!

 

It's for my mother who's looking forward to using it for photography, but I discovered a decent selection of my Steam games will run on it, and WAY better than on my laptop with a Nvidia 620M.

 

If Bioshock infinity will just finish downloading f'rg'dmm't!

It's not mine. I honestly thing the only time I will ever use it is to play Bioshock or portal in 2k. Or tech support.

Congratulations! I actually think a Mac is more useful than a PC and this is coming from a person who has worked on both for several years.

Mac is better than PC by far.

 

You might just wanna install windows on it if you want to play games.

Bioshock, Portal, Portal 2, and about 15 games that I play are Mac compatible. No need for Windows.

Macs are the way to go.

 

And if you want Windows for games, just load up Windows in Parallels or boot Camp. Still need antivirus, etc. for the windows os though.

What year Mac have you got? I have the 2009 one but replaced disc drive with SSD and put in 16GB RAM.

the 27" with the Nvidia 660m. it should be identical to the stock one listed on Apple's website.

Our last mac was a 2006 Core Duo. It hasn't been supported since Snow Leopard, so it ahs been running Windows 8.

A 2006 core duo isn't bad. And I bet it runs windows 8 well.

You can add additional hard drives or optically, just not internal unless its a Mac Pro.

it ran Windows 8 perfectly. aside from a readyboost drive taking up one of the few available usb ports and having to hack in the video card driver.

You must be using boot camp?

It will customize the driver for you.

Ready boost is overrated though, since its not ram.

But it's going to take up USB on any system.

At least it's working I guess.

Something that was a pipe dream 7 years ago.

Not boot camp, I overwrote the hard drive and dedicated it to Windows. but I did use bootcamp drivers, except the graphics card does not support 7 or 8 and the driver actually refuses to install, but I did something to get the vista version to work then it was fine.

Nice!! iMac is awesome.  Been an Apple/Mac user since my first computer which was an Apple IIe, still have it and it still runs.  I have never owned a PC in my life and never will...specially after seeing how awful Windows 8 is.  Only time I use is windows is at work and I dread going to work just because I have to use Windows....lol!
