Definitely second this one, for the most part.Higurashi no Naku koro ni is pretty well done, if you like mysteries with a lot of (not senseless) violence.
The Visual Novel it's based off is still much better, but the excess violence they put into the anime actually fits.
...Plus the official translation for the VN sucks, and uses the original art, rather than the DS/PS2's improved version's >.<
And stay away from the Umineko no Naku Koro Ni Anime if you want anything more than violence... You will simply get confused >.>
The VN is much MUCH better.
So to really start this back up again... What's all your favorite game-related Animes? And, due to me preventing myself from having to pick between a bunch of shows, Visual Novel based Animes don't count

Clannad
Kanon
Bakuman
Sekirei
Air
Sekirei is basically a heavy Oppai(large breasted) anime, but the story is pretty good too.
Air is alright, I recommend watching everything else first though.

Here's what I've seen and I recommend all of them. Putting in order of awesomeness:
Clannad
Kanon
Bakuman
Sekirei
Air
Sekirei is basically a heavy Oppai(large breasted) anime, but the story is pretty good too.
Air is alright, I recommend watching everything else first though.
I think you mean Kanon (2006)
There were actually 2 animes made of it, the first one wasn't nearly as good as the second.
Anyway, if you like the 3 Key works, you might wanna check out Angel Beats!. They were all written by the same person, though it feels really rushed at some parts...
Also, I haven't watched Sekirei, but I have read a fanfiction crossover with it, and Fate/Stay Night seems to be a bit similar. It's a lot darker and has almost no fanservice, but has an master-servant tournament battle plot (On a MUCH smaller scale). If that's what you liked about the plot of sekirei, then I highly recommend it.

I just watched Angel Beats! and it's one of the best animes I have seen, it's a little rushed, but I still highly recommend it.
It's rushed because this was a straight to anime work. Most of the stuff by Key is a Visual Novel/Game LONG before it hits anime. Luckily, Angel Beats! is actually being turned into a Visual Novel, though I'm not sure anyone here can read Japanese
Speaking of Key works, they currently have two (relatively recent) games out without adaptations... So look forward to them.
(And one of them, Rewrite, had Ryushiki07 working on it. Ryshiki07! That's the guy who wrote Higurashi/Umineko, people! Just think... Clannad + Umineko! *Nosebleed*)
Also, does anyone recommend Chobits? I know it's a CLAMP work, and I should just cast away all doubt... But I dunno, I've heard differing things about it :S
EDIT: Terrible formatting T.T

Actually, that's the anime I've currently been watching. It can get ridiculously funny. I believe it has a strong message behind it... I just need to figure it out first. Also, does anyone recommend Chobits? I know it's a CLAMP work, and I should just cast away all doubt... But I dunno, I've heard differing things about it :S

...But all jokes are good if tastefully done. Especially when it falls off sometimes. (<--Favorite Anime line ever )
EDIT: theres a second semester of Angel Beats! O.o?

Well, Chobits has a habit of having a serious tone in the second half of the ep, and then ending with something really silly. It's mostly due to the character development.Oddly enough, that's pretty different than the humor used by xxxHoLiC

EDIT: theres a second semester of Angel Beats! O.o?
Angel Beats! Second Semester (I think that's what it was called) was slated for Japan in April, but as we all know, the tsunami hit only days before. As such, I think the reason why I can't seem to find any eps is because, their productions got swamped or something.
I think the other reason might be Jun Maeda focusing the efforts of VisualArts/Key towards the Angel Beats! visual novel.

So long as it turns out better than Angel Beats! in the serious tone, then it should be fine

Yet another reason to hate water >: (
If it fixes the pacing problems that the anime had, then it could rival the Clannad VN. Which is only saying a bit, because there are quite a few better VNs out thereI think the other reason might be Jun Maeda focusing the efforts of VisualArts/Key towards the Angel Beats! visual novel.
