Got the Deluxe at launch. Sadly not at midnight (a lot of GameStop's didn't have a midnight launch for whatever reason). Got it in the morning when they opened. Only other people there waiting  were two guys who I overheard their conversation about buying all the Wii Us in the area and selling them.

By the time Resident Evil: Revelations and Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut where announced for the Wii U I was convinced to get it. I got a used Deluxe package along with New Super Mario Bros. U, Zombi U, Trine 2: Directors Cut, Mass Effect 3: Special Edition and Nintendoland, for a bargain price right around the spring update, which basically made the system useful. Since I had already finished The Mass Effect series and have no interest in Nintendoland I traded them in in order to pre-order Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.

 

 

Since then I bought Assassin's Creed 3, Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate on sale, and have borrowed and played Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition and Need For Speed Most Wanted U.

Sometime when time allows for it, I'll be getting Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell Blacklist, The Wonderful 101 and Watch_Dogs.

 

I really hope Shadow of The Eternals will somehow get made, since it was my #1 most anticipated title.

 

Now, someone please tell me that we still have no good games to play on the Wii U. This is about the best first year for a new console I can think of.

I got mine in January with Nintendo Land, NSMBU, and ZombiU. It wasn't until Lego City came out that I really started to get into it though, and then I got Assassins Creed 3 (only one I've ever finished just because I loved playing on Wii U) and Batman (Wii U version was best for me)

I picked mine up in June 2013 ... I have really been loving it ever since ... I was not happy with N64 or Game Cube ... I was a little happier with the Wii than those but am the most happy with the Wii U.  In my opinion, the Wii U is the best console Nintendo has ever made.

I got the delux for the same price as the basic because they priced it wrong and did not want to dispute it with me haha.
