Guys this will definitely work....

People like you are the worst. It takes 10 seconds out of your day to even make an attempt at getting this to happen, I don't care if the odds are 1 to 1000, you're a lazy self absorbed pr i ck.

This is what you originally said.

I can't tell what numbers the Wii U will end up with, but it probably will be bellow or in the neighborhood of the other two, because it won't be out for 10 years like they will be.
The only excuse for no third party support for this generation is laziness, or unwillingness to take a risk.
Ubisoft decided to hold back rayman legends, yet on the original platform it's selling as well if not better than the platforms with around 80 times the install base.
Now they've delayed two key games until next year's financial start, maybe that hurt them, maybe it didn't. My own personal opinion is that if they had released rayman earlier, it would have sold better, and the fangirls could get it later on their other consoles. Or maybe they just can't afford a Wii U for rayman, they might not be fangirls.
Third parties make bad decisions.

I think it is not laziness or not wanting to take a risk.

I think they assessed the risk and made the decision from there. Ubisoft did put a lot into the Wii U at launch so I can't blame them for seeing the writing on the wall and trying to increase profit on a product. .. though releasing on Wii U first would have been the best choice.

As far as my guess on numbers of units. .. yeah. .. it is just a guess. I am just basing it off of 35 years of gaming and like 25 years of actually buying my own systems and paying attention to what has happened.

I found just because I loved a system didn't make it a huge seller in the US... Dreamcast. TurboGrafx 16. GameCube. Come to mind. Wii U is the next on this list.

We've still to get a decent version of a last generation game on this console.

Ubisoft gave us rayman, which was an exclusive so probably shouldn't be counted, but it did sell on the Wii U.

That's the only real comparison we have here, but you can't say third party games don't sell on Wii U just because of what a lot of people consider boring exclusives like w101 and zombiu.

What third party means on Nintendo is the same game as everywhere else, what they're doing the last 5 years on the other two.

Leave the no more heroes and stuff to the third parties that do that kind of thing, and put them on Nintendo where they sell more than on the other two.

It's simple market research.

I found games like Mario sell 10 million.

Right or wrong, Nintendo has the rep if being "the other" console. When a multi platform game comes out, the Nintendo console is not even in the conversation.

This may not be fair to the Wii U, but it is hard to deny it is in people's minds.

This thinking is what will keep the lifetime sales low and just being the console for the Mario, Zelda, etc console.

But this will still make Nintendo a ton of money.

Yeah, nobody can deny that.

Even the companies themselves don't mention Nintendo when announcing something.

Ever gamer conversation is Sony or Microsoft, then someone might pip in later with "what about Nintendo?" then they'll remember that Nintendo are a competitor too.

Sadly it's only been during the Wii and Iwata's "we don't see Sony and Microsoft as competitors" stance, but 6 years is a lot for all the kids growing up with games now.

Probably started toward the end of the gamecube, when Nintendo realised they'd have to go bankrupt to keep up with the other two conglomerate corporations.

I actually like the strategy. It is for Nintendo games. That is fine. As a gamer I will own all the systems at some point.

What I don't understand is people continuously wanting a Nintendo console to do it all.

Get a PS4 or the other thing and move on.

I guess I just look at from perspective of some one who as owned at least 20 systems in his life. I am not tied to one brand. I just know if you want these different experiences you need to be ready to spend the cash.

They want the Nintendo console to do it all because they don't want to spend money on multiple systems.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

It works fine IF the company doing it is doing it well.

Zombiu didn't work well, it segmented between people wanting fast-paced zombie fps milling and people wanting a survival experience.

And it didn't satisfy either of them because it tried to satisfy both.

w101 is an example of a good company doing it well, but it came at an awkward time, with not much fanfair and the console isn't selling so well right now.

You can't really sell in mass quantities with a niche product unless you have intense brand recognition like Nintendo themselves have. Platinum don't have that.

We want third parties to release their games on multiple platforms because that's what they said they wanted to do at the start of last generation.

Nintendo's console isn't different from any other if it's got the same games on it.

They all have their exclusives, why do you want third parties to only be exclusive to 2 of the 3 and not do truly multiplatform games when that's what they claim to want to do?

Here is the problem: the Wii absolutely sucked compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 in almost all ways except waggle control technology. Even though it sold like 100 million units it was based on a gimmick that worked. But for fps, action games, etc it was a joke.

So in the wake of this Nintendo releases a console with the same name and expects everyone to forgive and forget?

That did not work.

Actually it was a pretty good FPS console.

The FPS just ahd to be story-driven and not in HD, rather than just online deathmatch.
