Eh, just a lot of bad logic there all around every side.
Of course the wii u is not going to match ps4xbone in power. But it doesnt need to match it to remain competitive and release games that can still be considered fantastic looking. Its certainly not a wii situation.
3dworld looks pretty slick in several areas, but its extremely obvious the game doesnt have a fraction of the budget next to the games its being compared to. Its just, not really the game to be used for this kind of subject.

So where is Nintendo putting their budget?
I dont think nintendo would EVER blow up budgets to the size bigger devs did on even ps360, no matter how powerful their systems become.
Id wager Nintendos biggest budgets would be going to-
The platinum projects they are funding, tw101 and bayo2

This. Also, I believe the Wii U is powerful enough for what Nintendo needs for their games to look amazing. I mean, just look at 3D World, Kart 8, Zelda U tech demo/WW...

Couldn't have said it better myself.
It's pretty obvious Wii U isn't going to compete graphically with the new consoles but I'm not sure what they need to show before people get it into their heads that this console is ahead of Xbox 360.

Nintendo may have embraced HD, that doesnt mean they have embraced the AAA way of doing things. Seriously, do people really think that Nintendo is being limited by the hardware? This is what Nintendo envisioned bringing Mario into the HD world would look like. Nintendo has a knack for not over complicating their games. Some times less is more. Nintendo has practically found a way to merge 2D platforming with 3D platforming when they did the Galaxy games, and that influence has carried on with 3D Land and now 3D World. The game looks far more impressive than I thought it was going to from the first videos I saw, and now it looks like NIntendo is flexing some muscle, but at the same time isn't overextending their resources either. Sure the guys over at Neogaf can nit pick this game to death and say what its not all that technically impressive, but at the end of the day its a very good looking game, and thats what most people who play games are going to notice, not the fact that it isnt using some advanced particle effects and shadows that some games on PS4 and X1 are using. I can understand wanting good graphics, I do and I am a Nintendo only guy, but there is a difference in wanting to play good games that have good graphics, and simply wanting to play a game because it has good graphics. So many games these days have sacrificed gameplay to be more cinematic. I dont need my videogames to become movies. So many IP's have become little more than interactive movies. At the end of the day Nintendo is smart when it comes to art direction. They make smart decisions and avoid a lot of potential pitfalls. Their games typically look great, so even if they arent considered cutting edge compared to the competition, they tend to stand the test of time a lot better than most. Zelda Wind Waker is a testament to that.
