Since the new consoles come out soon I figured why not start guessing how well these games will fare?

 

PS4

------

Knack (8.8/10) (praised for its particle effects and cartoony banter will be remembered years from now)

Killzone Shadow Fall (9.5/10) score is a little high but with it being 60 fps 1080p I expect nothing but high reviews. 

PlayRoom (No score) Shows off PS4 hardware just fun.

Warframe (7.0/10) shows off PC game on PS4 has lots of server problems due to overload at launch. 

Reso-Gun (9.2/10) Its an indie game using a succesfull formula.

Infamous Second Son (10/10) this is the game that will put the PS4 on the map. 

Minecraft (8.5/10) Sony shows up super late to the party but its Minecraft none the less.

DC Universe Online (7.5/10) awesome fast servers same old DC game but updated. 

Escape Plan (Same score as other versions)

War Thunder (8.0/10) Awesome fun plane battles.

Deep Down either (6.4 or 9.5) depending on how much free to play effects it.

Octodad (8.0/10) Funny hilarous game looks great in HD.

Drive Club (5.4/10) Terrible racer no content nickled and dime for everything

Counter Spy (7.5/10) Tons of innovations but swamped by bigger titles just a short download.

 

Xbox One

----------

Ryse (5.8/10) I expect the critics to rip this game into pieces even though its my most anticipated game at launch.

Dead Rising 3 (9.0/10) I expect the reviews for this game to be high all around due to amount of A.I. at once.

Forza 5 (8.5/10) Shows off the Xbox One's hardware but the game lacks substance but has tight controls and fun racing.

Killer Instinct (7.2/10) Praised for the gameplay hated due to free-2-play style and lack of characters at launch. 

Kinect Sports Rivals (8.5/10) Becomes Microsoft's Wii Sports shows that the Kinect actually works well this time. 

Crimson Dragon (8.0/10) A sleeper hit at launch addictive fun to play with kinect and controller. 

Titan Fall (9.3/10) Amazing Graphics but lack of story keeps it from being perfect. Great Multiplayer.

Fighter within (8.0/10) Fun use of the kinect shows off the new hardware very well a lot of different fighters. 

Mine Craft:Xbox One edition (9.6/10) Mine craft keeps on doing its thing. 

Project Spark (9.0/10) Shows off Xbox One capabilites is free to play becomes Microsofts Little Big Planet. 

 

 

Wii U 

--------

Super Mario 3D world (10/10) The best mario in years with amazing graphics good multiplayer and a million original ideas that turn the franchise upside down.

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (8.5/10) Donkey Kong has never looked as good hard platforming sometimes cheated feeling.

Wii Party U (7.4/10) Its fun for everyone

Bayonetta 2 (9.2/10) makes the other consoles look like a joke runs at 1080p 60 fps really smooth controls.

Super Smash Bros. (7.5/10) score is very low but I think a lack of story and a rushed product wil be the outcome here but great gameplay will prevail.

Mario Kart 8 (9.0/10) Mario Kart in HD with tons of tracks tons of characters and great gameplay

Yarn Yoshi (8.0/10) Not a lot is known just comparing it with Kirbys epic yarn.

Anything Nintendo related: "A charming experience that doesn't have near enough blood, swearing, or explosions for our tastes. 8/10."

I am positive that Smash Bros will not get that score. Who actually cares about a story mode in a fighting game. The only ones that pulled it off were Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice. It also still has a single-player mode; just not a subspace emissary.

Iirc Duke Nukem Forever was expected to be Goty, so I'm holding reservation until hands on reviews.

No way they are going to praise Wii U game for its graphics.  I expect the term looks good for a Wii U game to start popping up. they arent going to get down on their knees like they do for sony and microsoft.

Your Knack prediction, what?

 

I get the creator of Crash and Spyro is working on it, but Knack won't have anywhere near the quality and appeal. The gameplay looks generic and the character/ environment design looks uninspired. Knack will have pretty visuals, however so did this one launch game called Kameo Elements of Power, nobody remembers this one. This is what Knack reminds me of. 

 

Sony is selling Knack as something old-school Playstation fans would enjoy, they're even packaging it that way. Unfortunately the gameplay and level design hasn't evolved and is trying to be "too classic" for it's own sake. There is such thing as being classic while incorporating new, look at 3D World.

any single player game is better off with a story mode.

even the street fighter and tekken series have had loose stories wrapped around them.

It grounds the game and gives the player a sense of purpose to what they are doing.

I think SB not having a story is a poor move, but i am also certain it allows the game to launch sooner, which the wii u needs, since their third party partners have pretty much gone back on their word.

Just letting you know, Arc System Works does make fighting games.

I beg to differ. Have you even played Knack yet. I have and its far better then Crash or Spyro ever was. The gameplay is innovative and fun. The character and environment design is far from uninspired. Knack is a great game with innovative play mechanics, great graphics and characters and above all a lot of fun to play.
