F**k Nintendo and their online policies man. This is complete bulls**t. I really liked the app.

 

Now what they're gonna do next? Delete Miiverse? 

 

I can show my pegasus generator to strangers via Nintendo Chat. Are they gonna delete that too? I can draw offensive images and put them on the Mario community. Better delete that community! 

 

Honestly, how many children are using their online services? I don't know any. And adults really shouldn't mind 'offensive' content, unless you're a butthurt by heart.

Eeh I'm not too saddened, I never used this app, also Miiverse is around the corner so we will be able to send messages to others again soon.

Flipnote Studio in Japan has now stopped using the friends gallery.

The paid online service hasn't been affected.

I'm quite surprised several users are now crying out in sadness that this service is ending. I mean, not a too long time ago everyone was just yelling around that Swapnote was such a rudimental service and it should be replaced by the Miiverse as soon as possible.

Anyhow I was really impressed in how well this application worked and the only Swapnote stationary I enjoyed was the one for the "Luigi's Mansion 2" / "Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon" release from Miyamoto.

BUT what I have to add (I totally forgot): I once came across several gamers from Asia and North America that send each other some ... yeah, no offense, but really gay hentai pics. I mean - the heck? A mainly children focused console abused to send porn? REALLY? That seemed to be quite cool once...

What exactly is the point of removing SpotPass on the 3DS 

All the people i chat to on this i have no way of contacting them at all now, now we cannot arrange to play games together or meet up in New Leaf etc.

It might be ok for people in Japan where everyone lives next to each other, but not here in the west.

Nintendo has really been straining their relationship with me over the release of the 3DS & the WiiU both of which i bought at launch, i have been let down & disappointed over this, but this is the final straw, i'm going to be cancelling all the 3DS & WiiU games i have on order & i won't be buying another Nintendo system again.

Well it looks like I'm going to be missing out on swapnote. Too bad every one was swapnoting pr0n to each other and just ruined it for every one else. :/

can't exactly blame Nintendo for doing this; people have repeatedly proven that they can't be trusted to act responsibly so of course they suspend the service because they'd rather not be sued. Hopefully they figure something out, but for now them's the breaks

Nope. That was actually a thing. Thete was a law that said all toy guns needed orange on them. Most of them used an orange tip. Nintendo did this...

Used it once for about 2 mins, Never touched it again. We have about 6 3ds's in my house as well and not a single one of them use it either, So i doubt it will have a huge impact on Nintendo.

For four, Miiverse was going to basically do away with Swapnote anyway, so I don't see the huge problem here.

It points to a systemic problem within Nintendo, which is not improving.
Destroying things a lot of people use responsibly, or as adults, for the few little kids who mis-use their service at no fault to Nintendo at all.
