Activision Blizzard's CEO Bobby Kotick confirmed that a new Call of Duty game will launch in 2014.

CNBC reports that the announcement came during the company's quartery earnings call. Kotick also revealed that we'll be playing a new Skylanders game next year as well. This comes as no surprise, given that Black Ops II and Skylanders Giants were two of top five best selling games so far in 2013 for North America and Europe

No details were given on the new CoD game, though Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games have been reportedly working on the next entry in the series. Whether it'll be Black Ops III or something else entirely remains to be seen.

I'm stoked to see what Treyarch does next. Their games are always the most creative in the COD series, whereas IW continues to make Modern Warfareish games. I loved the settings of the BO series. Storywise however, there shouldn't be a BO3 seeing how most BO1 characters are dead already and a prequel wouldn't make much sense (BO was a WAW sequel in a way).

ghosts doesnt suck so far, there are things they need to fix, like spawning, but its a major improvement to BO2/MW3 unless you like mindlessly running around.

This guy gets it. Everyone knows that Acitvision does yearly sequels of basically all their games. Over and over and OVER again until they completely destroy the franchise. Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero say hello.
