By the percentages it seems like everything is sure bet but I would love a Zelda reveal or a Metriod one also some story trailer for X.

As far as nintendo goes "IMO" there are only three things that can really justify them showing up. 1. showing first in engine gameplay of LOZ Wii U. 2. They are getting a defenitive version port along with ps4/xb1 of GTA5. 3. show off a new modern shooter type IP developed by a western studio.everything else could be cool but it wont really get attention or be like the energy they got when they announced Bayo2 being exclusive to WiiU... they need more bomb dropping anouncments like that. show they are willing to compete and spend a little cheddar for their core fans.

 

honorable mention: a new Metroid squeezing the life out of the Wii U with visuals better than last gen would also get a lot of hype.

doubt it no one cares about how great mario3dworld is. the "core" audience at this event will laugh its A$$ off at mario3dworld being the big news reggie had to give.

Everyone loves Mario but I feel people need to see other games so they could justify getting a wiiu. That's why I'm hoping for Zelda or Metriod and a story trailer for X.

I don't think they've ever said Reggie will be making a big announcement. But a new look at an upcoming Wii U game, please don't get your hopes up, the backlash when they show Donkey Kong (which looks fantastic) will be unbearably idiotic.

Showing Donkey Kong really doesn't add up. Nintendo never goes to the VGA's (VGX) .

Exactly, I think that Amazon box art leak of Cranky Kong can wait for a Nintendo direct in January. A character reveal on a big stage like this for a game we've seen plenty of already, and have been able to access at demo kiosks is not something you shove down the throats with this kind of audience.

Acceptable choices to show off would be bayo 2, X, Or Zelda... But with the xenophobic developmentally stunted audience this event caters too.... Even those might not be recieved well without careful, deliberate direction in the video they show... Cant scare the menchildren, or they will defensively react negatively.

The correct choice for this stage time, would be a metroid prime.

Alas, all signs are pointing anywhere else.

Smash would also be acceptable for them... And has a high liklihood... But since I get new smash media every day, I would be let down by just smash

Also, what makes you all think Nintendo of America realise what audience is watching VGX, have you been looking at their marketing team the past year ?

Sure I do, but that was a Nintendo Direct. This is not.

I would expect Donkey Kong or Mario Kart.   I would like Zelda U, X, or maybe Bayonetta 2.

 

Unfortunately, this IS Nintendo we are talking about, as much as I hate having to say that.

Good. It would be great for Nintendo to show some balls and show Donkey Kong. And I seriously don't get the hate surrounding that game, everyone loved Returns, a sequel therefore is great news. And don't bring up Metroid - I think Retro have made enough of those, four to be precise and more than one company can make Metroid.

 

I do agree however that the audience of VGX are the kind that would not appreciate something like Donkey Kong (too colourful), I'm thinking it might be X they show.

e3 isn't a nintendo direct. They hyped a new smash character on GTTV, the same people this thing is on, and it was the fit trainer.

Proof they don't know what the Wii that audience is.
