Guys I'm highly considering buying the Mario Luigi Dream Team 3dsXL for $189, like right now.  I have a launch black 3ds.  I like it a lot but always thought it was too small,  and my hands aren't comfortable and cramp up.

Also wondering how reliable and easy transferring everything is.   I have all the ambassador games and lots of eshop stuff.   Any comments on whether this upgrade is worth it?

Transferring may take a while, but I would say it's worth it. You will keep all of your old stuff including your eshop account and Nintendo Network ID. It will act like that was your original 3DS. I would highly recommend it.

The 3DSXL is wonderful. The only issue I've had with it is 3D ghosting with some of the older 3DS games.

And, honestly, I'd get the XL, transfer your data, and sell your normal 3DS on eBay. You'll get like $130 of your cash back right there. Got my 3DSXL for like $20 that way. :P

Dang, for 189? Heck yeah, do it. And I myself haven t done a system transfer but I hear from other people that it's relatively simple. Go to the Nintendo support site and of will explain everything there.

YEa get a xl. I had the normal on and it was ok but the xl is so much better. The screen is easier to see and feels better in the hand.

The 2ds is crap imo and I won't support it so skip that.

Nollog will say no.

It's a trade off.  Pixels are slightly distorted but having the big screen makes things generally easier to see.  There's more space to use the stylus on the touch screen which is great for games that use it a lot but it's heavier if you're holding it with one hand to do a lot of stylus stuff.  The speakers are quieter than on the regular.

As for the transfer process, it's very easy.

Tell me one advantage that the 2DS has over the 3DS.

It can't damage your eyes, won't give you headaches, more durable, less hand cramps, way more comfortable to hold, cheaper and can do everything that a 3DS can without the gimmick.

The 3DS XL is bigger and closes to protect the screens and buttons.

Plus there's a charging dock for it.

Who actually plays this thing in 3D and still gets headaches?

It never cramped my hands, it has no hinge and looks like a kid's toy, honestly, who would buy a 2DS over a 3DS?

Parents. The 2Ds is specifically designed for kids. It's cheaper, no 3D so parents don't need to worry and because it has no hinges and is made of sturdier plastic it is a lot more durable. So yes it's a kid's toy.
