So that means every Wii owner can now sue this Dallas inventor for making such games like this possible:

There should be a law or fine about failing to notify "infringer" in a timely fashion.
The Wii Has been out for nine years, and we knew about the wiimote for a little bit longer. Either his patent is new thus null and void, or they simply chose to wait until Nintendo had sold many many units.

meh another patent troll. Companies deal with these guys on a regular basis. Small companies often make patents and sit on them fro various dumb reasons for this very thing. They are often put down. These guys ALWAYS come out years after the said patent infringing device is released.
No real news here. If he developed this 20 years ago why did they not stop Xavix when it released in 2004. Wii ripped Xavix off in concept. Why did he not sue them...no no he has to target a well known company...7 years after they released the Wii.

Nintendo will probably counter sue if they end up winning (and I'm not going to be surprised if and when they win) because they will turn it around saying something about the how the guy stole Nintendo's idea instead. Nintendo hates it when another company "steals" their idea. Anyway, this wont be the first time something like this happens. Back when the Wii came out some tv company tried suing Nintendo because their controllers looked too much like a tv remote. People will find any kind of stupid way to sue another company...

Nintendo's been sued over the Wiimotes like 5 times already. It doesn't even matter, they'll either pay a minuscule sum or win.
Anyone wonder why these people who all apparently own the same product don't sue each other?

Obvs. because a small company, desperate for money and with very few workers could/would never steal an idea, but a giant rich company like nintendo who have been forward thinking for the last 20 or so years and who have some of the best minds for this sort of thing totally would.

Still, at the bare minimum they should've sued earlier. I highly doubt they manage to not realize the Wii remote supposedly infringe on their patents by now.

Idk about this one.
A guy sue way back when the wii first came out. Same thing. Said the wii mote stole is tech for a mouse pointer on the pc.
So we will see how this holds up in court.

won't hold up AT ALL lol nintendo will laugh in their petty faces like they usually do
Posted 06 January 2014 - 08:39 AM
You know, this reminds me, I need to sue Nintendo as well. They stole my idea for plastic.

It's not worth it to spend millions suing a minor company who made at most, 2 or 3 million from their product, while Nintendo made multiple billions from the Wii, and supporting the peripherals in their new console ensuring more profit. No real news here.
