Not surprising, I think ps4 will overtake wii u once it launches in japan, but if ninty get their games out quick it might catch up again by summer.
I would think if X is out for summer it'd be a big seller for the ps3/4 crowd.

Just shows if you hype the hardware enough and do an amazing job of marketing you can sell without compelling games.

I bought one at launch and I not impressed. It's stupid that a console can survive on hype. Oh well good on sony

lol before Sony announced this VG had PS4 at 3.4 million. That is why VG is always a joke. They are so off it's hilarous. VGChartz is a total Joke and the forums themselves are full of idiots. Nothing of value would be lost if VG stopped existing today.

A product is only as good as its marketing. If you can't sell the product well to the consumerist market, you aren't going places fast.
That said, I feel that from what I recall from Sony's campaign (what ads I've watched, the floorspace it took in stores etc.) they have done a really great job. That's not say that's all they had going for them. I'm really digging the console, but I've seen enough of people stances on this forum that it's not worth anyone's time debating about it.
The point is, Playstation 4 made massive sales because they have a strong marketing campaign, something that Nintendo could've had with the Wii U if they had focused well on.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Playstation has a habit of supplying vast amounts of Japanese dev games, and I think smarter individuals are simply bracing that likely fact.

Sony did an awesome job of advertisement, the job that Nintendo didn't do for the U, so they're reaping benefits. Personally when I have enough incentive I know I'll get a PS4 (incentive = KH3)

There hasn't been one game that is as good as The Last of Us on the Wii U. Super Mario 3D World is awesome, but it doesn't really match up the masterpiece that The Last of Us is.
