A few days ago appeared Photos of Nintendo's new research and development building in Kyoto on ( we reported ). It was one of many measures for the internal restructuring of the Nintendo corporation.

Now we can already tell you about another measure. It's about the studio Intelligent Systems, which since its founding in 1986, not only ranks as Fire Emblem , Advance Wars and Paper Mario has hervorgebrach, but also programmed Developer Tools for Nintendo's consoles. Currently, Intelligent Systems works, which currently includes about 130 employees, with Atlus to Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem as well as a previously unannounced other Wii U game.

So far, Intelligent Systems was housed in the Kyoto Research Institute, one of Nintendo's R & D building in Kyoto, which also includes the Departments Software Planning & Development (SPD) and the Mario Club. Now the very important for Nintendo studio, however, is moved into its own building, which was completed in October 2013. The new property is located near the new Nintendo's main building.

Good for them! I can't wait to hear what that future Wii U title is as well.

While I think it's awesome Nintendo is giving IS a new home, I think Nintendo should be looking towards expanding their current development teams as well working to acquire some other devs.

Well It's not fire emblem wii u, I remember someone from inteli or ninty that they won't even start dev of that game if they aren't positive it will get 700k sales.

I wouldn't mind paper mario wii u.

Don't think it's a big enough team for two projects at the same time. Even if so pretty sure this project is resource heavy for them making  a HD game.

Wasn`t that talk about if it didn`t sell that amount on 3DS they would stop making more FE games?

It depends on what the second project is and how the deal is with Atlus in terms of who does what in FExSMT.

700k for it to be "viable" and for it to be considered a success

I confused it with the 3DS story.

Well, maybe that explains why they got Atlus on board. Maybe that could lower the production spending, thus requiring less units to be sold. Or at least the risk of failure is smaller.

FE on 3DS sold about 900k and need 250k to be profitable. Almost was the last FE in the series had it not sold well.

So I think a FE on Wii U is doable but yeah SMTXFE seems more like a test

This may sound weird but I think Fire Emblem just found a formula for a mobile game environment with Awakening. I think the next pure Fire Emblem experience will be on mobile (3DS hopefully). While both the Wii and GameCube games were good (or so I've heard) Awakening's success will probably lean the series towards mobile. Personally another 3DS game should be the test for the franchise because 2 successful games means a franchise is starting to be established
