Not sure if anything has been said about this but could this be hinting at a full cancellation? 

 

That's not likely given the game should be near release, maybe they're renaming it? But even then that's silly because everyone knows it as watchdogs.

They might simply be changing the name of the game? I don't see why they would cancil it, that's a TON of money, time and research gone to waste on an almost complete game (heck might even be complete)

Remember what  happened  to Splinter Cell  Conviction? They  completely reworked  the game..  except for the title. It ended up as  Assassin's  Creed  I  believe.

I just really couldnt see them dropping this game after all the work they did on it.

So idk. maybe something bad happen computer got wiped and they lose everything.

 

idk just know all the rumors about it not coming are going to hurt it if it does come out. I'll willing to bet preorders will be pulled.

I think people are reading more into this then they should be. I very much doubt the game itself has been cancelled. It may well go through a name change but I think there are other reasons behind this action. I suspect the game will still be released. I do think the game is pretty ambitious and UbiSoft may not have anticipated the complexity of the project.

Ubisoft (twitter account) is saying that the game is still being polished. My guess is that they just wanted a name change or were forced to do it, as Nollog mentioned.

The game's going to come out. It's possibly the most hyped game on the near horizon right now and Ubisoft can't possibly think it would be profitable to not release it. As far as name changes goes. Who cares if they call the game "Chicago Pony Rainbow Chasers" for all I care as long as the game itself is the same.

That's probably it, if anything. They have a movie in the works, and this is going to be the new Assassin Creed for this generation.
