The first vídeo is meant to show gameplay parts with other stuff. The second is really just gameplay.

The way it was shown, it`s not really meant to entice people, like a trailer does.

I wish they would release high-bitrate torrents of things like this, like the few Eurogamer do for comparisons.

 

Video quality can hide imperfections in poor quality graphics as well as make high quality graphics look comparable to lower quality.

 

This was all too apparent with the many AC4 videos that made the current-gen and next-gen versions look comparable, when in reality even the difference between 720p and 1080p at the SAME graphical quality is pretty obvious.

 

I guess its too much to hope that YouTube will keep the same bitrates when using WebM V9 so that we actually see a drastic improvement in picture quality.

Yup.

Nintendo actually RELEASED higher bit rate videos, considerably actually, of just the trailers on the eshop after the direct, for the first to X trsilers. They were about 2-3x the size of the same video segment used in the direct, or for the X segment of used in the video of the whole direct uploaded later.

This is what the really good quality videos that later surfaced on youtube were from (Although, naturally, they were STILL a worse quality than the original trailer only video on the eshop).

However, Nintendo has NOT released a high bitrate feed of the X snippet from this latest direct. All we have is the heavily compressed super low bitrate feed of the live streaming. No matter how high of a resolution you host that video at on youtube or whatever, that low bitrate original is there to stay.

possible that they cut back to make it run smoother. There is not telling unless you talk to one of the devs.

But idk. I can see a difference in the clips but i have also seen some tv ads and youtube video that look kind crappy and then i get the game and its like 10 times better.

Yup, that's more like it.  Although most games wouldn't be quite as brain-meltingly active so would cope with a lower bitrate than that.

 

Most Bluray movies have a lower average bitrate than that, but then while they are higher resolution they also have a much much lower frame rate.
