According to a preorder listing on Newegg, the game will feature a track editor (!). However, since then, Newegg has edited their description to remove any mention of the editor.

Could this have just been a simple mistake, or were they requested to remove it by Nintendo?

thinking about this logically. where in the development time between now and mk7 do people really expect them to have time to make a track editor. the difference in graphics alone is a huge part of development.

If Nintendo wanted it to be done, it could be done. Even if we ended up with a horse scat editor like we had in Brawl.

Guys! Donkey Kong TF is out. You know what that means? Mariokart 8 is the next big game we can expect to hear into about!!!!!

If this is true, and I'm not saying it is but IF IT IS, this could either be the greatest track editor since F-Zero X Expansion Pak, or as basic as the Mario Circuit Retro Course that we saw. The thing that made the F-Zero X Expansion Pak's editor so great was that it was basically the same tool that the developers made, so you could remake all of the stages if you want. Granted, the tracks in that game are a lot less complicated than in MK8, but if they could give that level of freedom, then it would be the best creator ever.

If it's on the other end of the spectrum, the tracks we would see would be really basic, but as long as they let us use the Anti-Gravity thing then it would still be really cool. We would see reimaginings of older tracks from Super Mario Kart, 64, and Super Circuit, and it works still be a damn good track creator.

I just want this to be real, even though it probably isn't.

It could be done, but logically in terms of development cycle. It probably isn't true and also the fact that three trailers in and they still haven't mentioned it only leads me to believe that it isn't true.

the insainly hard tracks i would make, on top of retro tracks from almost every racing games
