BS on WiiU not being able to handle it . They just don't have the ability to optimize PC ports properly.

Dax Ginn, marketing game manager for Rocksteady, has toldNowGamer that the team decided to make Batman Arkham Knight only available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One because the game wouldn’t function as well on Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Ginn cites the Batmobile as one of the reasons and says that “it’s highly technical – all of those things can only be done on next-gen,”

*Looks at gigantimassive X open world with herds of wildlife, flocks of flying creatures, gigantic dinosaurs, and mechs that can transform into blazing fast hover cycles, or freely fly anywhere in game world*

It makes alot of sense, you know. The batmobile alone uses a ton of memory, the model has even been reported to be a gig or so. Heck, even one of the character models have more polygons than the arkham asylum.

It really is for the best. Nintendo had it's chance to get the Wii U to next gen status (or current gen), but they didn't. I'll just stick to the exclusives, that's why we all bought a wii u, right? RIGHT?!?!

Sorry no. It is flat out just because Rocksteady is unable to really optimize PC ports, they just don;t have the know how pretty simple as that. Also as pointed out by 3dude X is far more demanding than this just because it's so massive and massive creatures that make Sotc cry.

Also no console can get to Next Gen Status because PS5 and XBT WiiUmii be more powerful than this gen.

Ouch... watch what you quote... 1 gig and 160 mb is quite different.

T1 - The Arkham Knight batmobile is so detailed it takes up around 160mb of memory alone due to the textures, shaders, and hundreds and thousands of polygons used. With the Xbox 360 only having 512mb of RAM and 256mb of that being dedicated to the CPU, that's more than half a full Xbox 360 before anything else is even added. It’s basically a full Xbox 360 game. (Batman: Arkham KnightPCPS4Xbox One)

Has it been shown how big X really is though? Arkham Knight is reported to be three times bigger than arkham city, which will be pretty big. On top of that, there are buildings, cars, NPC's, and more. Now, X, from what's been shown so far, has alot of open fields. Which will for sure, take alot less memory on the Wii U. And not much has been announced about X's technical power. But hey, we still don't have alot on Arkham Knight tech-wise either.

Of course they will, and people will whine about them not being true "next gen" it'll just keep going for every gen from now.

Well thanks then. I wasn't completely sure about how much it took up.

Arkham Knight started development on the Xbone/PS4. If anything, the PC version is a port. Rocksteady are console developers.

It's just a guarantee X will be very demanding. Xenoblade drained about every drop it could from Wii.  It's not just the massive open world but then you have massive mechs at least one city confirmed and massive creatures. Xenoblade had massive creatures. This makes them look small. We have seen an enemy with a walrus face standing immensely tall. Then areas with space battles we saw. Then an area where a bunch of massive flying living creatures. X will be very demanding no doubt about it esp when Monolith said they want to use the WiiU fully.

You know that Arkham Knight is going to have three times the amount of exploration that City had right? Plus there's going to be three times the amount enemies, and there's going to much more riddle side puzzles and side bosses. All you're saying what the Wii U can do, but Rocksteady is targeting their game to be able to match or be equal to PC gaming. For Arkham Knight to run on the Wii U they would have to downgrade the amount of enemies and the character models would also suffer as well. It would also take a toll on the Wii U's CPU. Nobody is knocking the Wii U, but it wouldn't simply be able to handle a game especially where the Wii U's 1GB of ram would have to sacrifice 160mb of ram, leaving not much left to work with.

The game probably could of work if Nintendo decided to use 4GB of RAM instead of going with a very small amount.

One I am kind of bored with the series. I do think the game could be good though. I just don't care for 3rd parties anymore. Do we have any major AAA titles announced in development for just the current gen consoles (WiiU, ps4, xb1)? WiiU will for me be a Nintendo indie love machine.

3x the size of city is small just compared to xenoblade.

Nobody is saying the wii u would run the game at the same fidelity as the ps4/xbone, but thats not whats being said here, whats being said is that a game mechanic like the batmobile would be impossible on the wii u, which is a laughable joke, because something that blows such a simplistic mechanic out of the water, in a game that dwarfs batman to the point of making it look microscopic has already been shown on wii u.

Not to mention everyone keeps quoting this 160MB of ram. Well Rocksteady must have found the impossible. Textures that can't be scaled up or down..wait yet they are still releasing it on consoles. They must not be using computers to develop this game then since computers have that ability. Must be some witches spell then. Because only in the land of make believe is where that 160MB BS holds up.

Doesn't matter to me, I bought a Wii U for the 1st party exclusives. But it does suck for the Wii U purist :(
