Maroon 5, One Republic and Train.
Boy bands usually carry bad connotation by default, so not sure if I would consider them overrated.
Older bands whose name has been carried out through the course of time are being remembered for a reason, whether or not anyone disagrees with their merit.

Anything I dislike.
Just like everyone else feels. I'm just not naming names because I can.
You don't have to dislike bands to think they're overrated.
I like quite a few different bands, but I think they, like all bands are overrated.

Cold Play, I love some of their songs, but recently they've been a little... low on quality, but they're still thought of as one of the greatest bands out there today.

Are we counting boy bands as bands? I assumed we were talking rock bands...
If so One Direction are worse than both of these.
True. Plus like someone else said, boy bands bring with them a pretty bad connotation so I feel like that'd be a whole other conversation. You have to be highly regarded to be considered overrated, and the only one that I can even think of being considered in a positive light would be Backstreet Boys, and that's in relation to their genre.
