Question to all you lovers of the platforming genre! When you're collecting/unlocking everything, do you finish the game and then go back through collecting what you missed, or do you go level by level (or at least world by world) collecting everything before moving on?
Your strategy for 100%-ing platformers?

Not all games give you the tools to 100% complete the level on the first try, so usually I go back later. For games with a large overworld, usually I break it up into sectors (if not already done), then complete it sector by sector, unless I want to unlock all of a certain thin ahead of time.

I finish the main stuff and then go back and 100% but usually just get to like 75% and get bored

A mixture of options 1 and 2 in the poll. Depends on what I feel like doing and how I want to play.
Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

It's kind of a mix of both for me. I go for everything I readily notice, but I don't make an effort to find everything until I beat the game.

Cool, seems like the majority finish the main game first and then go back. That's what I've been doing recently with DKCTF. Such a beautiful game!

i usually collect all of a spacific thing, if hte game is good enough, then i go back and get the 'extra' stuff.

I'm kind of split between collecting everything before going on and collecting everything after beating the game. It varies on the game, and sometimes I do both in one. Like in Tropical Freeze I made sure to get all the Kong letters before beating a world, but didn't bother with the puzzle pieces I didn't find until after I beat the game.

What I do is:
I touch the controller and... The game 100 percents itself.
I'm the holder of many world records for this very reason.

Anybody can load a hacked save file if they wanted to, but it takes all of the fun out.

I flip flop between two methods.
During super mario 3d world, I blazed though the levels and afterwards I went back and did everything.
With Rayman Legends and Tropical Freeze, I am taking it one level at a time, not going to the next level until I complete everything for said level.
Both ways are working for me. If I had to pick one, I would say 100% a level one at a time is probably my favorite method. I enjoy playing the same stage 2-5 times each In order to complete all the tasks.
