LOL! Old School styled RPG's don't hold your hand 24/7. They let the player play by their wits more.I grind like like a stripper on a a Saturday night in RPG's Sometimes spend the first 10-20 hours grinding for advancing much. I love it. BD offers a fair challenge but not that big. You want something harder check out Last Remanent or Fire Emblem Thracia. Esp some older Rogue RPG's. I often hit level 99 bfore thr game is finsihed. Some people like getting everything in a platformer. I love to level grind. Tho at times I do like to just advance right away to offer more challenge. Try an Ys game on Nightmare.

There's a lot of bosses where you need to equip certain items and/or blitz one of the bosses to get them out of the way.  A little grinding can help too.  Some bosses, particularly the non-mandatory ones, are susceptible to som cheese kill methods.  Just make sure you collect each job asap.

I would experiment with your classes and your equipped . I've long since beat the game, so I'm not sure I can help you with any particular advice, but just playing around with how you have your characters set up is really the only way to accomplish anything in this game.

Just use a white mage for reflect.  Once you get access to spiritmaster, use that for all bosses to avoid status effects.

Wii now I'm stuck on Edea's father who keeps recovering.

Work on your class combinations. The main strategy I've used thus far in the game is to keep focusing my different characters one different 'types' of classes that compliment each other. Tiz is my thief/archer styled character, Agnes my white mage/sage type, Ringabel currently is a red mage, and Edea is my damage dealer/tank type.

Also if he's healing on you, remember that you can always default to store up turns. Usually they'll only start healing when they're brought down to a certain threshold of HP. Get the boss character close to that point, and then stop for a while to build up your turns then blitz him with everything you've got.

If he uses magic to heal cast magic reflect spell on him I've used it for on my guys tried to heal and couldn't lol might have the same effect.

Also it healed my enemies. So it may actually heal you.
