Not hard to understand really is it.
The array of choice has nothing to do with quality, huge selection but how many are stinkers? Many. Who says, "today I am really tempted to buy a gaming PC for the exclusives"? I didn't.
It's a platform for the best experience in multiplats and some not bad exclusives hidden in a pile of turds. Point is, console exclusives since time began are better made, Apart from Half life 2 who can really say a PC game deserves to be in a top ten of best games ever made?
Maybe that's the issue. I actually do love rts but not the PC experience.
Why? I come home from work and want to spend a few hours on a game. Do I pick up Starcraft/Dota 2 which are extremely overcomplicated, 50% of the screen taken up with icons and actions I can't be bothered learning and just far too much to take in before I can start enjoying the game. OR do I pick up something like Pikmin or Advance Wars, something like that which are easy to get into and have a habit of being addictive.
Before I get called ignorant, i give all games a chance and learn as much as there is before giving judgement. It's all subjective at the end day isn't it.
Ignorance is OK, ignorance just means you dont know about something or are uninformed. I am apparantly woefully ignorant when it comes to making decent hash browns.
So you dont like that style of rts, maybe you should check out the other 99.99% of the pc gaming experience.
Truth be told, I havent played the kind of rts you are talking about since war craft stopped being one and ea murdered westwood. I dont touch mobas either. There is a lot to pc gaming, their could be so, so , so much more if the aaaaaaaaaa publishing houses were to finally choke on their own greed and die and allow mid teir dev studios to grow again.
If you are looking for meaningful games that you dont have to spend hours sifting through a wall of complicated controls, PC has that.
http://zarat.us/tra/eversion/http://hcsoftware.so...tion/index.htmlThese two above are even free to boot.
http://insideastarfilledsky.net/http://thecastledoctrine.net/They are simple to understand mechanically, and dont take much time at all per session. But I wouldnt judge them too hastily. Each one of these games is packed with more thought and meaning than a dozen aaa factory crap outs.
But artsy type games, while thought provoking, may be a little too short and simple for all the time, engrossing as some o f them may be. Sometime you may want a visually deeper, immersive experience.
PC has also become quite the scene for a survival horror return to form.

PC is where everything not on a nintendo system is taking shelter and waiting, waiting for the fecal lords to die so they can come out and grow again.
