Really excited to see the scores it gets, I'm gonna predict the low eighties because a lot of wii u exclusives that I think deserve higher scores get around low 80s at least when rounded up on metacritic.

I say the only thing it'll be panned for is its battle mode. The map battle seems to rub some people the wrong way.

Apart from that, I expect good numbers.

Found the NintendoWorldReport review (75) interesting. Complaining it's too similar seems pretty stupid. Writer seemed to expect them to suddenly make the game into an open world sandbox jrpg first person third person shooter.

Then he calls it the best multiplayer racing game he's ever played, fun and a great experience.

And gives it a 75.

Like what?

 

Anyway, I don't think all those 90-s to 100s are really surprising for anyone. This just confirms the that the game is in fact as awesome as it looks.

From all videos I've seen, I dislike two things

 

1. constant coins from item blocks when you're in first place.  Zero defence and punishment for being in the lead.

2. No on screen map.  I hope there is an option to turn that on, I don't like looking at the gamepad and this thing will make me have the pad in the air just in eyes view.

 

Still looking forward to it.

Surprisingly ign gave it a decent/fair review for once. 9 out of 10. They were actually rather happy for once(musta been drunk lol) there only complaints were battle mode and a few online things voice chat etc. was actually a fair review for once so like I said they must have been drunk. And I never thought I'd say that about them lol. They were even happy with the graphics 0_o

1. How is that a issue? making it harder to maintain the lead? In most of the earlier games it was fairly easily to make a 1st place lead a massive lead without overdoing blueshells. Giving 1st place less defence makes it easer for other to catch up. Not get farther and farther ahead while 2nd and down keep each other from catching up.

 

as for 2. There better be a on screen map option. I can see how it can be confusing with the gravity sections but i still want it regardless.

eh. they probably just realized making up stupif reasons to give it a bad score when it's so hyped up would be incredibly stupid. Especially when every other site wouldbe saying how incredible it is.

At this point most assume its 720p upscaled to 1080p. Sad thing is not many if any reviews I have read talk about the resolution. I think we all can agree on 720 though.

As far as I know, review wise, it's 1080p, 60fps even when two player splitscreen, but it isn't said wether this is native or upscaled.
