If you strip the graphics away and replace it with simple cubes and a few basic assets, the game will be a very good puzzle game. Very good. Yet, as such, most puzzlegames, also the good ones cost between 0,99 and 15,00 nowadays. The game doesn't do much more than these puzzles and I wonder how long it will keep you busy. Including Nintendo's nice graphical overlay and ideas i'd pay more than the standard puzzle games sure. But between 15,- and 30,-, I just couldn't justify a full 49,95 for this.
If there is enough variety and levels I'd be happy to pay normal retail price. That said I suspect this game will be lower then normal retail price. Either way I will be getting it.

not worth a retail release
If all it was was a large collection of the kind of levels we saw in 3dworld, I would agree with this.
However it looks like they have done much, much, much more than make an addiction collection of little puzzle levels.

Toad is starting to grow on me a bit- but still far more excited about bayonetta and especially star fox.....
The jury is still out on this for me on Capt. Toad.

For anyone wondering, I think that all the games in the Digital Event have been confirmed to be retail releases, (yes, even Mario Maker).
I think that Captain Toad will Offer somewhere between 60-200 levels and maybe a different game-mode or two to spice things up and make it worth the retail release.
