So on my Wii SMB3 was gifted to me and I bought DKC. I didn't look into DKC yet but I know you get a discount when buying SMB3 for Wii U if you had it on Wii already.

 

So my dilemma...

 

I sold my Wii last summer after wiping it of all my acct info. If I go into Wii Mode on my Wii U it does not show SMB3 (or DKC) in my download history. Fair enough, no explanation needed (I thought possibly it could recongnize my pre-NNID history somehow).

 

So am I SOL on getting this game(s) back at the discounted "upgrade" price?

Your games are tied to the console not an account. Stupid I know. Nintendo still needs to fix that.

You need your original Wii with the games on it to get this discount. You need to either:

 

• Transfer the games from Wii  to Wii u

or

•  Buy the games on the Wii Shop section of the Wii U's Wii Mode

Nintendo has that bad with digital stuff.

And DKC1-3 aren't even on the Wii shop anymore because of copyright, it's dumb.

Pretty sure you can still redownload it though if you already have purchased it.
