so i was just looking at Shigeru Miyamoto's Wikipedia page, and his Birthday is November 16... this year will be his 60th, do you think maybe then, thats when the Wii U will be released?

I've always said someday in November. May be wrong, may be right. But that's my guess. I don't dare to say a date in that month though.

I would think that you are probably right! This date should help sales somewhat. So I will asume you are probably right! I just never thought of that before.

Since November 16th is a Friday it's very likely that it could end up being the release date of Wii U. Well, at least for one region. I'm guessing that if that would be the case then it would have to launch on the 18th in the Americas. Console launches are always on Sundays there.

iwata already said he aims for november in europe and america and september for japan miyamoto's birthday could be a great day to release wii u. in fact it might boost sales, he could go to the nintendo world store in New York for his bday like last year and then loads of people will come to see him and at the same time pick up a wii u

Yeah that was pretty smart. Plus, November 16th would give Nintendo and third parties ample time to get a good launch line up.

Any Australian like myself would agree that it'll release on a Thursday here. LIKE ANYTHING ELSE THAT CONCERNS VIDEO GAMES!

So true, for the most part. Some games come out on other dates, but it's mostly on Thursdays.

Sucks when you go to EB on a Thursday and there's no new games.

Me personally since the Dev Kit is done besides maybe a layout change or something the System is done and its just sitting there. So no point having the finished Wii U sit for 6 months lol. I say July-August is when it will come out.

Really most games here come out on tue never heard of thur release dates before and im still hopefull for august though that may be to early

Though developers still need time to finish developing launch titles and launch window games also apparently the controller isn't done so I'd still say a November release date is likely. As for releasing on Miyamoto's birthday yeah I could actually see that happening, heck maybe even a worldwide release for the special occasion (probably pushing it).
