[Ruthie]

Heroes of Ruin was the unintentionally leaked game from n-space and Square for the Nintendo 3DS. The picture was posted by n-space but then taken down again, I guess they revealed a bit too early. Practically nothing is known about the game but the little we think we do know is:

-It will have four player drop in/out online gameplay as well as the usual local play
-It is full of customisable armour, weapons and abilities
-It will have voice chat
-To keep you going once the main story is completed will be extra missions (through Spotpass presumably)



Right now all we have is this picture to go on. What do you think so far? It looks very promising and I like the fact they are using the 3DS's features like online and Spotpass. I love the fact that Dead or Alive does this. If they do this right it could very well be one of the best on the 3DS.

Personally, I think the art looks a bit to western for my tastes... Though I won't mind if the game can do all it promises.

Until then Samurai Warriors is still the best 3DS game. Ok, maybe DoA is... But I can't afford that one yet

It does looks promising. There's a lot of great looking 3DS games coming up, so I don't think that it will be the best 3DS game. I like the idea of downloading missions through Spotpass though.

Oh, yeah and E3 revealed that it will use streetpass as well for exchanging items. That's pretty much the everything

I admittedly have a soft spot for Square games, so I'll be picking this one up.  I grew up on the Final Fantasy series since the NES days.  I am really, REALLY hoping we get a FF6 remake on the 3DS

When I read the OP I was like,"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?" but then I saw the date and it all made sense. HoR is looking pretty awesome. I especially like the drop in drop out online.

Why were you so surprised?

It's looking pretty good, co-op with voice chat is something that should have been in RE:Mercs. The graphics don't look great but i'll wait and see for some gameplay videos to decide if i'll get this.

It looks alright, but I probably won't get it when it comes out, I'll be too busy with Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Super Mario, although if it's really good, I might pick up a copy later on if there aren't many great multiplayer games.

It's also removing a lot of the other small hindrances that slow down action RPGs, with a particularly quick menu system. If you walk over an equippable item, its statistics appear on the top screen: a quick tap of Up on the D-Pad equips it immediately, while Down will sell it just as quickly. Mapping skills to buttons is easy too: three touch screen buttons represent X, Y and A, and tapping them cycles through your available skills until you've got a set-up you're happy with. You can still go through traditional-style menus if you want more in-depth control.

There's no shortage of skills and character customisation either: as well as the 80,000 or so dynamically-generated items, there are distinct skill trees for each character class with the ability to put your skill points into statistics instead, meaning you could have a group of four characters of the same class but each with totally different statistics and playing styles.
