Apparently unlike before where Nintedo was saying the new 3DS wasn't going to launch outside of Japan this year is not true. It's being launched down under this year. I'm pretty annoyed as I would like to get it this year but I need a North American model as my 3DS is North American and due to the region lock.

Idk why they won't release a US model before Christmas. It just make much more sense to me.

Releasing it after, will just get the New 3ds over looked.
I can see if now. Kids crying for a 3ds for Christmas. Mom or dad gets them one and a game. Then early 2015 (March). They release the "New 3ds".
The same kid sees this and crys for it, but there parents just tell them no i just brought you one.
So Nintendo losses a sell for the new system. And that kid probably won't get the "New 3ds" for another year.

I think it's just bad planing from Nintendo.
Also they need to change the name. "New 3ds" just doesn't do it and sounds kinda crappy.
They could of called it "Super 3ds". But nintendo also isn't good with naming systems.

The same thing happen with the wii. Nintendo is all about confusing there buyers lol.
A 10 yr old might know the difference but most parents dont.
I remember a older lady (45 to 50).
Was trying to buy a nintendo DS for her grandson.
The guy at Walmart showed her a Gameboy SP and said it's the same thing but this one is cheaper.

It was Christmas time and I felt sorry for that kid.

I haven't seen this happen with playstation, Cellphones (90% of then at lest).

it's all about proper naming.
And the 2ds stuff is crap.
My friend , nephew and niece, think that it's an upgrade from a 3ds and that's it's better.
Also hear people go into gamestop all the time fusing that they don't see any 2ds games or why they have to pay that much for the game when it doesn't have the 3d lol..
