I haven't played it, but yeah, it doesn't look like as much of a complete mess as 06, like, it looks like they were somewhat close to what they wanted... But there are some bad glitches, the gameplay looks pretty boring, and the hub is so barren...
Just my opinion, I haven't played it, so I can't really review it.

After playing through a couple of hours here are m impressions. The game is NOT AS BAD AS SONIC 2006. I know people on neogaf and some on the internet is trying to make this the case. The game is different than your normal sonic game it is set in a bigger world where there is exploration and combat.I personally do not think it is that bad. Knowing what we know now about the mass exodus of staff I can see why there are bugs and a lack of quality and polish. I think Sega or Nintendo (since this is exclusive to their console) should have stepped up and made the decision to delayed the game. I am not sure if BRB was hidding all of the problems they were having. but someone should have seen this and made the proper decision to get this game back on track. I will play through and complete the full game. It is playable it is just rough around the edges. some decision just seem so weird. Why not use the sonic lost world engine that already produced a 720p 60fps game? I see nothing in game that suggest cryengine was necessary and how much did they spend to license that engine? also they have alll these areas in the game for collecting coins yet they do nothing. The game does make decent usage of the gamepad and miiverse. This game needed about 6 more months of sever polish and fine tuning.

I find it sad how a lot of people are comparing this game to the monstrosity that is sonic '06...
Add me on Wii U if you want to settle it in Smash

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

Interesting, as so far I feel I enjoyed Sonic 06 MORE than this game.
I think perhaps its because I have gotten used to modern open-world games where there is so much more to do, as even my love of Sonic Adventure is not as strong as it once was.
I agree though that bugs and controls wise its definitely not as bad as 06, but with AC Unity, The Crew, GTA V and many others to choose from on PS4, I just don't feel motivated to play Sonic Boom at all. I have pumped more hours into Pure Pool than this.

I've only played the of the 3 levels in the demo but it's really dissapointing see a game which showed so much promise to deliver so little.
You play it and you can see that it could have been way better. It just feels clunky.
