As you all know, Nintendo has a stellar lineup for the Wii U this year, with games like Xenoblade Chronicles X with its epic size and scope contrasting with games like Kirby And The Rainbow Curse and their simpler, more colourful gameplay and art.
And so, I task you, loyal forum-goer, with choosing your favourite of the upcoming games.
Options below.
Kirby And The Rainbow Curse
Kirby makes his debut on the Wii U (other than Smash Bros. and Virtual Console titles) in a new, never before seen form. This time, play as clay kirby, who is controlled with the gamepad touchscreen by drawing rainbow lines of yarn into the game for Kirby to roll on.
A follow up to the soon 10 year old DS game; Kirby And The Canvas Curse, Kirby And The Rainbow Curse releases February 22nd in North America.
Splatoon
Splatoon, a new third person shooter IP thought up by Nintendo Garage, mixes traditional third person shooter gameplay with new squid movement and paint mechanics. Traverse the map quickly and easily by swimming as a squid through your team's paint. Fight the other team to have the most ground covered in paint at the end of the game. The game is multiplayer focused with a single player campaign. Buy clothing and weaponry at the shops in a plaza populated with other players' avatars and Miiverse posts.
Splatoon is due to release this May.
Zelda Wii U
The newest title in the Zelda series comes to the Wii U, bringing with it beautiful HD cel-shaded graphics, advanced physics and a fully realised, massive open world. Conventional Zelda gameplay elements are being rethought, including dungeon order and player choice.
Zelda Wii U comes out sometime this year.
Xenoblade Chronicles X
The sequel to the Wii's critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles takes everything good about Xenoblade and turns it up to eleven. The game boasts stunning graphics, detailed cities, massive monsters, a gigantic open world, hundreds of quests and side quests, multiple mechs used for traversal and fighting, and much, much more.
Xenoblade Chronicles X comes out 29th April in Japan, and sometime this year everywhere else.
Mario Maker
Mario Maker is set to be the first Mario game to feature level creation, and sharing through Miiverse. The game has multiple art styles to choose from that go all the way back to Mario's first sidescrolling adventures.
Mario Maker comes out sometime early this year.
Devil's Third
Devil's Third is a third person shooter game exclusive for the Wii U from Valhalla Game Studios. Featuring over the top gore and whacky game modes, the game looks to be both fun and appealing to hardcore fans.
Devil's Third comes out some time this year.
Yoshi's Wooly World
Yoshi's Wooly World follows in Kirby's Epic Yarn's footsteps as it gives Yoshi a new look and interesting gameplay mechanics. The game's graphics are absolutely adorable, and this time you can actually die (the absence of which caused many complaints for Kirby's Epic Yarn).
Yoshi's Wooly World releases this year.
Star Fox Wii U
Little is known about Star Fox Wii U, other than that it is definitely coming out before Zelda Wii U. Look forward to a ton of information at this year's E3.
Fast Racing: Neo
The sequel to Fast Racing on the Wii, this game has the same premise, except with impressive HD graphics. Little is known about the game, however, only a few screenshots have been shared.
