There's a new update for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U that unlocks 15 more stages for the game's 8-player mode.

The 316MB download brings the brawler's version number up to 1.0.2.

Smash Bros. previously limited its hectic 8-player mode to just a few stages, as some are simply too small to include all of the action.
Today's update sees nine regular stages and six Final Destination stage variants added as 8-player options:
Regular stages

• Mario Circuit (X)
• Luigi's Mansion
• Pyrosphere
• Norfair
• Lylat Cruise
• Pokémon Stadium 2
• Animal Crossing - Town and City
• Animal Crossing - Smashville
• Wii Fit Studio

Final Destination stages

• Mario Galaxy
• Mario Circuit (X)
• Kirby: The Great Cave Offensive
• Lylat Cruise
• Pokémon Stadium 2
• Animal Crossing - Town and City

This is good as. I believe it also added a few tweaks to some characters (namely Diddy Kong) for balance.

think they felt the 8 player mode deserved a bit more attention.   MK8 devs should take note.... cough cough battle mode stages....

 

I was hoping the MiiVerse stage would be in the update.. I am looking forward to that one.

yeah, I was just being sarcastic. I think many other companies would have charged for content like that even though it was more or less agreed that the original offering was lacking

Oh, mine is still on 1.0.1, it doesn't update it when I open it sadly, and when I check for the new stages it didn't unlock them yet, and I don't have any downloads running :/

Now to see what balance changes were made if any. hopefully a diddy nerf, He was too easy to use compared to other top tier characters =/

And yet, Coliseum is still not one of them.  WHY?!  I don't understand why that stage is not allowed on 8 player.  It's my favorite, and it's more than big enough...

I thought this was 15 completely new stages at first, but found out they were just stages already in the game but with 8 player smash added.

 

It's pretty cool, 8 player smash felt like it was lacking content.

Good ole Ninty giving the players what they want free of charge, If all developers were like them the gaming world would be a better place.

Also, did anyone notice more custom move drops? i've been getting alot more of those since the update, and alot less of the stat modifiers.
