I've to say the Gamecube. It's not the first console I owned but it was the one I could buy more games for. I played a lot of amazing games in it and my favorite game (Tales of Symphonia) is for the Gamecube. As for handhelds, my favorite is the DS Lite but I could see the 3DS beating it pretty soon. :P

I'd have to say the PS2 hands down followed by the N64.

Mine would be Gamecube, because of Paper Mario TTYD and Sonic Adventure. Plus games like Mario Sunshine! BUT my favourite game in the world has to be Super Mario World and All Stars but since that's my only Snes game that's all I have. :P

N64, GBA SP and PS2 (Only for the amazing DBZ series) Close competitors.

The best home consol is: The Wii, 5-6 years down the line, you'll all be agreeing with me.
The best Hand Held is: The 3DS, it has just overtaken the DS.

The Gamecube is getting a lot of votes as it is one of the first consoles that people would have on this site (knowing how most of you are 14-16). A lot of nostalgia. For me, I grew up with the Mega Drive and N64, but the Wii is simply the best!
Bring the noise.

Saturn is pretty awesome! But I don't have many games for it, what do you suggest?

Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition, Fighters Megamix, Galactic Attack, Sega Rally Championship, NiGHTS Into Dreams, Virtua Cop, Shining Force 3, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and X-Men vs. Street Fighter are some great and cheap (by Saturn standards) games that don't require importing. Importing is pretty easy though, all you need is an Action Replay, (4+ preferably, the normal version has incompatibilities with a few games, you can get one here. http://www.racketboy.com/store/ ) no modification required. It also works as a RAM cart, memory storage, and cheat device, so it's basically required owning for Saturn fans.

I currently have Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 2, and Earthworm Jim 2. I think my next games will be NiGHTS Into Dreams cause I've heard nothing but good things and Galactic Attack looks awesome! I guess when the time comes I'll look into getting the Action Replay, I've heard about getting one to play Japanese games but I don't know what's good. Thanks for your help!

For me it's got to be Gamecube, iv'e owned every major console since the Master System, & i don't think iv'e had as much fun with games like. Timesplitters1&2, Metroid Prime, Baten Kaitos, The Wind Waker, Second Sight, to name but a few great games on this console.

NES

I am very biased though, since the NES was the first console I owned and was the only one I owned for most of my childhood.

nostalgia wise my favorite is the N64, so many fond memories with it, but when I go back to play it I just hate the N64 controller to much to enjoy it. My overall favorite is the sega dreamcast, it was so beyond its time and it had amazing graphics and it just seemed perfect plus the games were easy to rip

My favourite game system is probably the GameCube. It was awesome. The controller was much more comfortable than anything on the market at that time. The 3DS is great too but needs more first party games.

Gamecube, definitely. No one else seems to appreciate the thing but I think it really was one of Nintendo's best consoles. Some of their best first party games like Super Mario Sunshine, SSB Melee, Wind Waker and Metroid Prime were on it. And it didn't do too bad in terms of multiplats either, I mean how can you go wrong when you have games like TimeSplitters and the actually decent Tony Hawks?

I also love the fact that the main design was purple, even though I've always had the black Gamecube.

im totally with u on the gamecube, absolutely amazing console that i really really dont understand why it didnt get full 3rd party support. it was near perfect for its time

It is. I grew up with the GameCube. It had an amazing series starter with Animal Crossing, another one of the keys to my childhood. And it is pretty small, with a cool name, and wired controllers. (Which I REALLY like for some reason.) I`m not sure about this but I`m pretty sure it was low power. Against the N64 and the GameCube, (My two favourite consoles.) Game Cube destroys N64.
