Because Zeldo is all about different times, yet it's always set in the past.
Go into the future for one, shake it up a little.
Like I said, new IPs are created for a reason, and I would buy this one. Zelda has always been about midevil times, though; monsters and magic has a completely different meaning in the future compared to the past.

While I'd describe Zelda's setting as being more fantasy based than strictly midevil, I see any possibility of a "futuristic" Zelda being more Steam Punk or Magic Punk than full-on Star Wars.Like I said, Zeldo's all about different timelines.

If it ever did go to the future, you think of space when you think of future, so it'd be somewhat logical.

Even an HD collection would be awesome.

I agree. Plus, I don't like the fact that we know when this is. I mean, we can situate each Zelda game on a timeline but they never specify when it happens. Plus I like how Zelda includes technology in their games, without being futuristic (like spirit tracks had trains). It's so charming.Nope. Sorry, but that sounds.... not Zelda-ish.
