This is interesting, Many developers are dropping major projects on the Vita & are now switching to the 3Ds? Of course its just A rumor but seeing as how the vita is flopping & Japan is were it gets most of it's sales then why would developers make games for A system that isn't selling well? What do you think about this? do you think it's true & what if it is?

Well, you basically made the same point I was going to.

Nobody's going to want to develop for system that consistently sells 13-17k systems a week (in Japan), whenever they can program for a system that's selling near 80-100k copies a week (in Japan).

If you were developing a game, I'd say you'd go for the larger system base for maximum profit, wouldn't you?

It actually makes sense in Japan. Let's face it the Vita's not selling very well, and Nintendo 3DS has Monster Hunter, AND Nintendo pretty much has exclusive rights to publish Dragon Quest(by that I mean that most, if not all, Dragon Quest's have been on Nintendo Systems.), so they kinda have the market cornered.

I think it depends on the developers. The western developers are obviously going to be more attracted into developing for the psvita while more japanease devs will move to nintendo as to be honest that's really the only platform they have where there is a market for japanease games.I mean the market is switching from Japanese devs to western devs and japanease games are barely selling and yet they have found a nice niche market in nintendo systems

Don't know if this is true, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it is. The Vita can supposedly handle games that look like PS3/360 games, but I don't see a reason why a bunch of 3rd party companies would want to develop games exclusively for the Vita. Making games for PS3, and 360 makes sense, since they can make a really nice profit, and adding a Vita version also is understandable if it adds to it significantly. But an exclusive high quality Vita game from a third party developer? I don't see that happening too often. Exclusives are what sell systems, and I don't think 3rd party developers would risk making an exclusive game for the Vita, when the userbase is extremely small. Especially when whatever Vita exclusive game they have planned, could easily be done on PS3, and 360, and make a better profit from it.

Though not notice how he says ''largely exaggerated'' not untrue so I'm thinking there's still a bunch of major Japenese developers jumping ship. And this report does come from Nikkei which has been extremely accurate in their past rumours.

developers always usually work with the machines that sell better if they have a choice . so this could be one of those situations. im talking about launch sales for 3ds and psvita

I do think there's some truth to this.

Maybe it's only a few though, but right now - every dev for the Vita counts.

This sounds like a load of bs to me. Moving a Vita project to the 3DS would be like moving a 360 project to the Wii - not entirely practical.
And if these developers that are supposedly moving to the 3DS are not using what they've made so far then it's a massive waste of time and money - not very practical either.

Regardless, this is nothing more than a rumour made a Nintendo fanboy.

Or, this isn't as big as an impact as everyone would like to make it to be.

Though if these titles are early in development or in conceptual stages then it's possible.
