The media doesn't understand that adults can be gamers too.

Although, "the media" is a very vague term.

I'm all for it. R18 means ID, which screws the pups ever getting games like GTA at an age where they shouldn't.

Besides, it doesn't stop me. >=)

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

I am all for it, I may not live in the country but it isn't fair for other gamers who want to play games that are banned from the country.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

I believe it's stupid that even until now we still don't have an 'adult' rating for our video games.
If this keeps up we are going to continually get games banned here.
The government and the media need to understand that there are games designed for adults and that gaming isn't exclusive to teenagers and younger.

I hope you guys get a lot of great games, and for adult Australian gamers to stop being treated like children by being told what to play, and what not to play. I've been following the release for Mortal Kombat 9 last year, and I heard about the game being banned in Australia. Warner Bros re-sent it for another appeal, but it was rejected again. A lot of Australian adult gamers were outraged, and let their frustrations out. I think MK9's banning is the main reason why Australia might be considering an R18+ rating. I'm surprised how some games still make it over there though, like God of War.

As for the media thinking adult gamers don't want R18+, I'm not sure why (especially because I've seen on MK forums how Australian adult gamers complaining about wanting a higher rating system, because they don't want to miss out on great games), this is the first I'm hearing of this.
