It seems Comcast, a US provider, could be involved in with Wii U.

Internet TV on the Wii U wouldn't be a surprise for me. Seems feasible.

Well, BBC iPlayer has been on the Wii for a couple of years in the UK, so it isn't a surprise that that type of service would be available on the Wii U.

yea with recent role microsoft has take with the form of providing entertainment i could see nintendo doing this

How feasible or logical would it be for the WII U w/Comcast having a DVR type of system Being able to save to USB/External Hard drives.?

And Sky Player too, I think.

What I want is a media player for the files on my hard drive.

Nah, Sky Player was somewhat announced for the 3DS (turned out to be some short programmes on the Nintendo Video), but never the Wii. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it was on the Wii U over here in the UK.

It is a next gen system it doesnt really need confirmation
