"I've just heard it from a friend that Epic has UE3 & UE4 up and running on Wii U hardware.
His source works for a developer, one that I shall not name, but they do work on pretty much every system. So that alleviates any concerns that I didn't have over the Wii U power issue as far as I'm concerned."
"To clarify on what was said, it was more along the lines of Nintendo tweaked the Wii U to make sure it can run UE4.
which would explain the recent bump in specs... and apparently Nintendo is still tweaking the hardware. So it could get even better."
Let this rumor be true!.

She works at a company what develops brainware for everyone so that alleviates any of my concerns.
I guess it's good news though.
Not a fan of unreal engine, but it's one less excuse for third parties if true.

Hmm the thing is their even going to be UE4 considering not so long ago they upgraded UE3 with DX 11 features preparing it for next gen which sounds like UE4 isn't going to happen in the foreseeable future.
Epic confirmed that UE4 is for next gen games

So Nintendo would definitely want this supported on the Wii U.

Wii U may never use directx, but it can use tessellation! As its a hardware based feature.

im glad to see that they have taken advice and added more power to compete with the next gen.
I recently read that cliff at epic games was pushing the big3 to make sure they would have the most powerful hardware possible and that they would only support next gen with unreal 4

remember how much xbox and ps3 cost when it released? About 650 euro!! well wii U will cost less, you cannot demand power and cheap at the same time.. pick a side..

What brought up the price of the Xbox 360 and PS3 was the DVD and Blu Ray, the 360 was 300$-400$, the PS3 was $600, since the Wii U does not use DVD and Blu Ray support (the optical disk for the Wii U though it just as good as the Blu Ray) and that the Wii U does not have Gamecube backwards compatibility it will bring the price down, I expect the Wii U to be $300-$400.

That great news but also kinda Ironic since them trying to make a game manage to look next gen on current systems they in turn just made the next gen system look better since they with the same engine will be able to look better than the next gen image they tried to make using the current system meaning its not actually looking next gen because of that but anyways great news .
